Its a lost art...ESPN era, home run, big swingers...etc... Same with hoops its all dunks and showtime...fundamentals have been going down hill for 15 yrs.

Poor fundamentals. Bunting, hitting behind runners, hitting cut off men and so on. I remember one of the best at teaching fundamentals was Earl Weaver. The vets would cry about all the time spent on them every year at spring training, "we've been doing it for years Earl, why do we do this over and over every year!?!" Probably did get boring but there was no more better executing team than the Orioles.
