Watching players these days sometimes I think to myself hey this player plays like so and so back in the day. While I could come up with more names I came up with a basic list and see if anyone can think of anything more to add.

Vladmir Guerrero - Roberto Clemente
Roger Clemens - Nolan Ryan
Lyle Overbay - Rafeal Palmerio
John Smoltz - Jack Morris
John Frnaco - John Franco
Eric Gagne - Goose Goosage
Craig Biggio - Joe Morgan
Derrick Lee - Fred McGriff
Corey Patterson - Rob Deer

lol....i figured i'd made my point with the John Franco joke no need to overkill it, plus Juilo still has some talent in him. Hell i remember has a kid trying to hit like he did what my bat way over my head.

I was going to say Schmidt /Rolen

Corey Patterson, Rob Deer? I just don't see that one...besides the K's

You have a lot of good ones though...

Scott Podsednik kinda reminds me of Rickey Henderson... Probably many better ones out there. Schmidt/Rolen was the first one coming to my mind as well.

I also think Kerry Wood reminds me more of Nolan Ryan than Clemens does.

Kinda obvious one because of the mechanics... D-Train to Fernando Mania

lol...Patterson-Deer was might to be a joke since all Patterson does is strike out and he only swings for the fences.

El Duque reminded me of a throw back style player, but couldn't match him up, maybe a cross between Gibson and Marichal.

interesting list,

I'd go with:
Adam Dunn-Mark McGwire (or deer)
Johan Santana-Vida Blue
Jesse Orosco-Methusaleh
Carlos Delgado-Willie Stargell
Rickie Weeks-Joe Morgan

Mentioning El Duque...

Livan to Marichal??? Kinda a crappy one I guess, but it's not bad... Both dudes with rubber arms... then again I guess everyone had a rubber arm by today's standards back in the day.

Name just slipped away from me... but Brian Giles to someone else who had a goofy looking stance up at the plate... someone's gonna say the name and I'm gonna shoot myself... Can't think of it for the life of me but JUST had it...

I was thinking Giles and Dykstra actually...

Not bad, but not who I was thinking of... it'll hit me eventually.
