I just got one for work, because I had to. I paid $29 for it! I had no idea they were cheap, I figured they were $400 or so. I'll be using company software for videoconferencing, but from what I understand, you can do live audio/video chat on MSN messenger now, provided you have a web cam. Anyone do this? Seems pretty cool, especially to this technologically challenged individual here. It would seem to be an easy solution for the Roxygurl situation, and any similar situations that come up in the future.

Do you ever use yours? I need to try mine out. I was able to record a video, so I think it's working, but I would like to use it. It still doesn't seem possible. I mean, when I was in junior high, one of my teachers posed the question about whether or not there would be tv phones in the future. We all thought no way.

I use to use it when I was on Yahoo, and on AOL you can send small 10 sec clips..I think Yahoo is the best though..I haven't used the webcam in a year or so...its very easy to work though.

I have used the Illini, of course DSL or Cable is a must for decent quality. Still use it now and then to converse with my sister & others in Kentucky......

I used a webcam briefly back in 99, but never bought a new one. Would be cool for long distance family or cyber sex. :hump:

The great thing also about a webcam is that you can use it as a digital camara.

I use my webcam to post pictures of items that I sell on ebay............works great!

Really Fish?

I tried that in the past and never found the quality to be that good doing it that way. Maybe I was just doing it incorrectly.
I always use a scanner or regular Digital Camera.

Hache- I use a $99 Logitech webcam, if that makes any difference.

Yeah, I think when I bought my logitech (years ago) it was only $50+ , so that is probably the difference......

Every time Fish makes a post, am I the only one who sees that Big Smiley Face out of the corner of my eye, & somehow envision the face as Fish with that great big Grin while answering or responding to someone?:icon_conf lol
