Of course most will remember the bad beats much more so and of course we all hear he same line " they average out"....We all remember the all time worst beats, Ventura grand slam game, Seattle comeback vs Cleveland, Oilers/Bills, the USC overtime game , the list goes on and on....

What about the good beats, when the game is all but lost and by some miracle your side miraclulously wins your bet?

I'm sure we all have countless good beats we can talk about....

One game I recall , college football Iowa vs someone from the Big 10 @ Iowa , it was several years ago now, I had the side and total, I had them both pretty large for me , both plays were going down , and both were so close....a few minutes left I was losing the over by a point and the dog was also losing by a point (I had Iowa's opponent) anyway, a couple minutes remained and this was my last shot, the team I had already had given up and the backup was in and he was awful, I had NO CHANCE OF SCORING A TD, and they were too far down to bother kicking a FG with little time left....

Iowa has the ball inside their own 10 yardline instead of punting the ball away, the punter MUCH TO MY SURPRISE GIVEN THE SCORE , STEPS OUT OF THE END ZONE, to this day I have no idea why, because Iowa was up very big and the score did not matter, even the announcers were scratching their heads, "why did the punter bother" "strange call" Game goes over by ONE and I got the cover by ONE....

That was one of the good beats :drink:

D. Wade for no reason touching L. James useless 3 pointer at the end of the game which the ref's call goaltending on and Cleveland covers against Miami at the start of the season.

Dallas getting a last second safety agaisnt Jeff Garica and Cleveland to cover the spread last year.

Chris Duhon miracle 3 again UCONN in the NCAA Semi's in 2004 was by far the best and sweetest one since I was at the Luxor's sportsbook at the time and the place went crazy

That ASU win over Nebraska just a few days ago springs to mind. I thought that one was over after that double play with 2 out, bottom 9.

I remember turning back and couldn't figure why they were still even playing....I think the baseball playoff game was on too if I'm not mistaken.

I had under 7-1/2 in the Robin Ventura Grand Slam single game, but in my opinion, if you have under and you lose a game that's tied 2-2 in the 15th inning, that is a bad bad beat. In other words, justice prevailed.

I had over in a pro football game a couple of years ago where there was a late score in closing seconds. I still needed a TD to cover. On the kickoff, the receiving team went into the desperation lateral mode. They eventually lateralled to the kicking team and they strolled into the endzone for 6.$$$$$

Jan 2 1992 (DON'T ask why i know this date so well)

a friend and i are in the stardust sports book. we see a line for the Santa Barbara @ Pacific game

the line is: PICK

we rub our eyes a few hundred times to make sure what we see is reality - it is

Santa Barbara is gonna KILL UOP - we know it

so we go to the window and place a wager on UCSB. we go to the back of the book - think about it some more - and go make another bet. we go to the back of the book - think about it some more - and make another bet. we go to the back of the book - think about it some more and make another bet. we go to the back of the book - think about it some more - and make another bet.

you read this right - we made FIVE bets on the game - all @ Pick

we go to the Fullerton @ UNLV game that night - and we got killed

we hear UOP is UP 9 @ 1/2 and w/10 minutes left - and we are shitting bricks

we NEVER hear a final the rest of the game - and we are dying

after the game i see Ross Porter on the other side of the court and figure he has a score. he does

He tells me Ray Kelly hit a 10-footer w/2 seconds left to give UCSB a ONE POINT WIN!

my friend is on the other side of the Thomas and Mack. he see me ask Ross - then i thrust both my arms high in the air to celebrate - and we both do. people look at us wondering why we are so happy - our team got killed by 30

i go to cash my ticket but also i have to go to the riviera to cash another ticket. on my way to the window i see a "UCSB -1.5" ticket lying on the floor. i laugh but also i am stunned - for that guy got a bad number - but that could have been US

about 3 weeks later UCSB comes to Fullerton. after the game - we go to Ray Kelly and thank him - telling him why we are so happy. his mother is there - and i will never forget this - she says something like "you should share some with us" - and if UCSB had stuck around that night instead of driving home - we would have.

Yankee/White Sox game back in the early 90's. I have the White Sox big, Yankees throw a no-hitter, White Sox still win.

Leyritz made 2 errors in left. :lolBIG:

I was on the wrong end of this one, but I'm sure someone, somewhere cashed as a result. It ranks right up there as one of the most amazing revearsal of fortune outcomes in gambling history.

It was about 3 years ago and the wager was the 2nd half total in a Spurs/Bulls game at SA. The Spurs were up 18 and the shot clock off. The Bulls had the ball and 6 points were needed for the 2nd half to go over the total. No matter what the Bulls do, SA is going to dribble out the clock. However, Jalen gets fouled hard going to the basket. The zebras call it a flagrant (2 FTs and the ball). Jalen Rose takes exception to the foul and gets whistled for two technicals. It doesn't take a lot of imagination to figure out what happened after that.

How about the brawl game between Indiana and Detroit this year? I had the under. It was 169 I think. The total points scored in the game was 168 with about 3 minutes left when the all heck broke loose and the game was called.

One of the worst pushes happened in last years Detroit Texas game last year. Someone on this site posted that he had Detroit for the first five innings. Detroit was winning 14-4 going into the bottom of the fifth. Texas scored 10 in the bottom of the inning.

1st round of the Big 12 hoops tourney, 2003. Kansas St and Colorado.

I had the Colorado ML. Here you go:

The Associated Press
Friday, March 14, 2003

Dallas — All Pervis Pasco had to do was stand still. Or dribble. Anything but walk.

Pasco's interception of an inbounds pass in the final three seconds against Colorado should have given Kansas State a victory in the first round of the Big 12 Conference tournament Thursday. Instead, he raised an arm in celebration and started to leave the court when he was whistled for traveling.

Given yet another chance, the Buffaloes made the Wildcats pay when James Wright banked in a three-pointer at the buzzer for a remarkable 77-76 victory.

I actually was stuck on money line on INDY MNF miracle. I left the house already graded a loss. Photocopied that bet. But best of all, another MNF, Pitt/Jax. I was keeping this square's action, not booking mind you. Just forgot to turn in it, :hump:
He has Pitt +4 I think, under and a big parlay with same. I think a $7500 payoff if all hit. Needless to say, Jax totally outplay them, but settle for fg's. He is going to run the table on me, and I am giving my woe is me speech. Pitt is lining up for a fg. My oldest son sincerely says, you could always hope for a miracle. Of course I know the only possible scenario is blocked kick return, but Jax would just fall on it and end game, they would never score, even if it got blocked, even if they recovered it. So miracle it was, gets blocked, perfect bounce to defender, runs back all the way for TD. Cowler even play tripped him along the Pitt sideline.

Close second Music city miracle, I had Tenn Money line, and appeared deader than dead.

Best Wishes...OF:howdy:
