The only thing i can think of is that a person just wants to focus on one sport. If someone starts to focus on two sports if may hinder there capping skills. Just a guess why someone would do this

Everyone I know plays both for sure. MLB is too big a money maker to wait on.

I would have thought that early MLB lines would be easier to beat, but I'm not an MLB expert. I'd like to hear what Bucs & Co think about this topic.

Lots of people do it, action seekers of course. One bookmaker made the point to me saying "how much action do you think we would take on a Grand Slam golf event if any of them came in the NFL season?" His response was maybe 25%. He said its really telling with NASCAR too, they get pretty decent action all year until September and then it falls off badly. With the NASCAR's race to the championship usually coming down to the last few races you would think the action would get better, but he says the last two races last year got about 40% of the action of just a typical race in July.

Bettors are simply looking for action and when NBA is done, they have to find it elsewhere.

Football and Hoops are two half games, with point spreads. Baseball is a 9 inning game with no spreads. Middlers just pass bases, scalpers live for it. But if you like working on days when there are lots of opportunities, Nov and Dec are the best. Sometimes October. I know people who just stop after NBA, because sitting in front of the computer watching the screen for scalps is a true grind. No halftimes, Bet CRIS has 5 inn line. Weather is generally nice versus Winter and there are kids out of school. People who just start betting bases after NBA ends would have to be rare, as the numbers are off early in the season. But you may find value now, and especially later on over adjusts. Me, I am doing a few horses and that is it. Fishing and family time. Then when batteries are fully charged, back to the cooker, for NFL preseason. To be honest, I have never heard of that before.

Best Wishes...OF:howdy:

a true pro wouldnt wait but the vast majority would wait until the end of NBA finals and then put there first bet on the yanks, redsox, braves or cardinals....of course it depends on what kind of streak they are on. (ie: yanks are due)

end of june usually adds a small line vaue for the underdogs because of the line value adjustment at the end of the NBA finals

take philly and the mets on sunday and the odds are with you taking some juice

do you know why?

IVe asked him, He is a much bigger NBA fan (That is his #1 sport) baseball is about #4 so I guess he gets his fix and action and winnings from his number # 1 sport. But then after its done he does not know how to stop or maybe does not want to as he waits for football, so he starts up baseball, then after football starts (NFL) no more baseball....no saying that makes sense but that is the case.

I know plenty of people who not only dont bet this time of the year but never, their argument is that it is a mugs game.
