Tomorrow's Newspaper, I appreciate you taking the time to post up your work and you really are having a good year. Thanks. Also, thanks for participating in the best bet thread.

If you could spare me just a brief amount of time, I would really, really appreciate it. How, exactly, are you coming up with your picks for the best bet thread? I can't tell you how much your picks have meant to me and I am not sure (but you mentioned briefly before and I have an idea) how to find the same exact selections on my own. Anything you could offer would be most appreciated. tulsa

Tulsa,

It is more of a fun thing for me than anything. I started taking the biggest dog of the day. atl run line, whatever. That didn't do so well, so I started to try and find the best "live dog". That has gone better. No real system, just having some fun.

I know you are just tinkering around and having fun with those. However when you say,

You are understating. That was amazing and it was such a consistent thing that even though it 'didn't do so well' it did that so consistently that it was money. So, you have changed your selection process then lately? Ok...I need to be careful then. I know you realize it, but when you are hitting such a streak on your W/L's it is money whether it wins all the time or loses all the time.

What do you mean when you say 'live' dog? tulsa

Chop, didnt see it in your thread. There is no need for that. Keep up the good work. I saw you are killing Jim Fiest Sux over at the other place. Nice job.

Tulsa,

At first I wanted to see what would happen if I took the biggest dog every day. Keep losing and that got boring. Now I am taking a dog that I am playing and using the alt. run line. Been doing that for a couple of weeks. This seems to be doing a lot better. Just remember, that when playing against big dogs you will win a lot of the time. But one good streat of dogs and all the profits are gone. I would avoid playing with or against those plays. Too many good cappers you can get winners from.

Too true about losing a couple of those heavy favorites eating up the profits. I appreciate the info and your explanation. There are some very good cappers to follow (you included) but I just wanted to make sure I understood what was going on with the picks. Thanks again and good luck. tulsa

Great day so far going 5-0-2 +12.91 units. Now if we can get Detroit to come back (they are only down by 11).......

Adding for tonight.

Nymets +1.5 even (3 units)
NYmets +200 (1 unit)

This is almost a 5 unit play. The only thing keeping it from being 5 units is the big unit. I still have too much respect for him for some reason. Also the umpire. Crawford is 7-3 over this year with the second highest average runs per game in baseball. If not for him I would be on the under strong. Still see a 3-2 type game and I dont even care who wins. I get an extra at bat, I have my ace on the mound who is 4-1 in his last 6 against a guy that as everyone knows struggled against one of the worst teams in baseball (road record). I look for Beltran to have a big game as he is finally getting healthier and has done well against Johnson in the past (5 for 8 or .625 average).

Good luck whatever you decide.

good luck on the mets, I am on them as well as on the over.

you may also want to consider NYM - 1.5 +303 at pinny. if the mets win, it is because they have gotten to johnson and it will not be pretty.

yanks comments in the press look like they are all worried about steinbrenner...I think the yanks might self destruct in this one...also johnson is a notorious head case who might just spin himself out this game. he has had trouble adjusting to life in NYC from the beginning and if he loses tonight watch out.

bottom line: yanks don't want to be swept and i think johnson will fold under the pressure

dont think he will fold under the pressure, he has been there many times. I just question his health. His fastball is 3 or 4 milse slower and he just looks hittable. Unlike years past. I heard rumors that he was going to skip tonights start (tired arm) but was convinced into pitching (ESPN/The BOSS). He did look tired. I watched him against TB last week and believe me, it wasn't the Tampa hitters. He just looked very average. That said, it could be just one game as he pitched 9 inning the game before against Pittsburgh and gave up 1 earned run walking 0 and striking out 11. I wonder if the 9 innings slowed him down a little. He has had plenty of rest after only going 3 innings in his last start. tonight will be interesting to say the least.

I have a feeling he will pitch a very good game. I also expect Benson to be in top form. He has owned right handers this year as they are only batting .211 against him.

Again I would be on the under pretty strong if it were not for the ump. His games have an average of 11.6 runs per game.

You are right about Benson and the rightys. Throw in 2 of the 4 lefty hitters in the Yankee lineup Giambi, and Williams who are both slumping big time and you have a recipe for a great game from Benson.

Thanks for the info on Johnson having to talk the team into letting him pitch tonight. I did not know this. If hes tired that slider will be pretty worthless. Its the only decent pitch hes had all year.

Yankees as a home favorite of -200 to -225 the last 3 years: 27-17 (-8.4 units)
Yankees vs right handed starters this season: 24-25 (-17.7 units)

NY Mets in Benson's starts: 8-2 (+6.4 units)
Yankees in Johnson's starts: 9-6 (-4.1 units)

There is a lot of value on the Mets tonight. That doesn't mean they will win obviously, but I just can't see how anyone would bet the Yankees with this line. If this were any team other than the Yankees, this would likely be a -140 line simply because Johnson is on the hill. Take Johnson's name off his jersey and label him Pitcher A and Benson Pitcher B for the public, and this game is -110 each way.

Good luck with your plays.

I agree Clip. Nice stats. Like you said, doesnt mean they will win, but if we bet it enough times the numbers will be in our favor. I like the +1.5 even more in this game. Benson should be tough tonight.

Thanks for dropping by. Dont be a stranger.
