Recieved this Email and have not opened link but I guarantee it is scam because I never had a Pay Pal account in my life. wil.


We recently have determined that different computers have logged into your PayPal account, and multiple password failures were present before the login. One of our Customer Service employees has already tryed to telephonically reach you. As our employee did not manage to reach you, this email has been sent to your notice.
Therefore your account has been temporary suspended. We need you to confirm your identity in order to regain full privileges of your account.
If this is not completed by July 1, 2005, we reserve the right to terminate all privileges of your account indefinitly, as it may have been used for fraudulent purposes. We thank you for your cooperation in this manner.

I received something very similar a few weeks ago. I smelled a rat, but it did look very official with the layout and logos and even the sender/return email address.

I just replied to mine and so far I think its legit

Sometimes they need to get info like the email said.....Can't hurt since it's directly from Paypal

Bottom line, they must insert your name when sending you an email of any kind.

Never divulge any personal information and they will never email you for that information whether it is paypal or ebay.

Always send it (email) to

spoof@paypal.com

or

spoof@ebay.com


They will respond indicating whether it is genuine (which it never is) or if it is fraudalent.

If anyone sent in their information or clicked on the link then IMMEDIATELY GO IN AND CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD AND INFORMATION.

The Today Show had a special on this subject this morning. They said that only 5% of these scammers are caught and that most originate from countries around Russia.
