In case anyone else is following this live.

I doubled up my 2-dime loss on Cubs on Smoltz & company.

Bases loaded, 1-out, top 1st. Furcal made an out at 2nd and Johnson missed a HR by an inch (foul ball). But next 2 batters got singles + Jones walked.

LaRoche up based juiced...

Betemit pops up with bases loaded, too shallow to score runner from third.

Blah. 2-outs.

wow...I pretty much did the same thing you did..I took that Cubs loss extra hard, then put more than I should have on the Braves...good luck to us...

Weak... only 1-run despite 4 hits and 1 BB in 1st inning.

At least top of the order will be back up soon.

Smoltz only needs a few runs and he'll shut it down. Hope Smoltz goes 9 as the bullpen is always worrisome for Braves this year.

Orr playing 2nd instead of Giles. Maybe Giles can PH if needed.

Good luck to both of us. I really wanted at least 2-runs out of that 1st inning, but Padilla looking really hittable and Smoltz looking really sharp.

So 1-run is all we need, right? (Assuming no Atl bullpen collapse!!)

Smoltz needs to be the bullpen today.

Smoltz 1-2-3 inning including a K. Abreu looked weak vs. Smoltz. Hope Smoltz stays very sharp.

11-pitch inning for Smoltz.

27-pitch inning for Padilla.

Yeah, wishing a little more offense in Braves lineup, but they doing okay so far.

Orr 2-for-2.

Braves stranded 5-men after 2 innings, 0-for-3 w/RISP.

Common, blow this one out early so we can kibitz rather than sweat it out!

Estrada out til Monday at the earliest with that concussion.

McCann doing decent however, with .385 AVG heading into this game (2 HR's, 5-RBI) through 7-games started.

Smoltz had Pat "the bat" looked silly. Smoltz is on today, folks!

Thome replacement ties it up with a single.

Ugh... common Smoltz, shut them down.

Lieberthal gets hit on ball Betemit couldn't play the second bounce. Ugh.

Oh well, pitcher is easy out, right? 2-on, 2-outs.

I wish we could've started 3rd inning with Lieberthal or Padilla, but i'll take exiting the 2nd with a tie game at this point.

Padilla struck out. Tie game.

I suppose it could be worse.... we could've laid juice on Randy "I can't pitch at my old age" Johnson.

LaRoche gets a 1-out single (2-for-2 today).

Padilla looks very hittable... need to put him away early and get that Phily bullpen in by the 5th or 6th inning so we can tack on more.

Betemit reaches on fielder's choice, 1-on, 2-out, top 3rd.

Langerhans needs to do something. McCann on deck then Smoltz.

(At least the top of the lineup will get their 3rd look at Padilla in 4th inning... he's thrown a lot of pitches!)

Lofton robs Langerhans of an extra base hit that would've scored Betemit and give McCann (batting .370) an RBI chance.

Damn... oh well, good news is Padilla is at 62 pitches through 3 innings. That means at least the 7th and 8th of bullpen action before Wagner in the 9th if Braves losing, prolly bullpen in the 6th as well.

Abreu line drive in-and-out of Furcal's glove for a single.

That's 2 hits today for Phils off defender's glove.

Abreu left stranded at 1st as Smoltz puts away Pat "the bat" with his 4th K.
