I live in Vegas and it's disgustingly hot here in July and August ! I simply hate it here in the Summer. It is fabulous weather here most of the other Months and a lot more exciting as far as Sports are concerned. Oh I know.... our rooms will not be free ! Who really cares ? The cost of the rooms is nothing compared to the cost of Airline tickets, gambling and entertainment etc. etc. As long as We are going to have a Bash.... why not do it when it's great weather and outdoor activities are fun. Do you really want to play golf in July and August when it's well over 100 ? Just one's person's opinion !

Kermit, I think that is when it's easiest to get free rooms for everyone. I am certain there would not be as many atendees if they had to pay for 2 nights of GN rooms.

Rob,

100 in August might be a record low, it comes nowhere near being that cold.
It was a balmy 107 today.

I dislike the heat worse than most here, but last year in Vegas I was comfortable and that says a lot.

high 90's at night not uncommon. if it were a perfect temp most people would spend time inside casinos anyway. really this time of yr you need warm clothes as most casinos are freezers in summmer.

I am only living here until my wife retires in a little over a year. I used to come here for about 15 straight years during March madness and it was great to just stroll along the strip in beutiful weather. Who wants to stroll or play golf when it's 115 outside ?

GD didnt mention what rain we get in the summer usually happens in the last 3 weeks of August thanks to monsoons so you guys might even get a sticky day.

You all were damn lucky last year in the days before the bash weekend it was getting up to around 115 for 4 days straight. Then the monsoon came in on Thursday night and things were indeed nicer just in time for most of you to arrive.

I think the best time of the year for deals on rooms is the first week or two of December; that's right when every football game is life and death.

I just asked my wife who works in room reservations at the Circus Circus and She verified that the slowest time of the year is the first 3 weeks in December.

The CIRCUS on occassion can be a great place to gamble.

They once had free half point promos on Friday nights in the sportsbook that had all the wiseguys in attendance.

They have also had some great slot and video poker plays over the years that have attracted the top professionals.

-FH-

ps- Also, if there, be sure to stop by the gift shop and pick up your free BJ matchplay coupons.

pss- Circus also has had one of the best steakhouses on the strip........excellent joint the locals have known about for years.

Good Morning Dante,
It's 5:26 AM here in Vegas and I'm flying out this morning at 11 am to visit all my brothers, Sister, Sons and Daughters and 3 Grandchildren in the beutiful State of Oregon. My Mother who is 95 will accompany my wife and I on the trip. Compared to my Mother... Aren't We all still just Kids ?
Yes, you are correct that Circus, Circus is just for Kids and I would never ever stay there either but you must remember that Circus Circus is actually part of Mandalay Bay which owns something like 1 1/2 miles of the strip so there are lots of Serious gamblers betting at Mandalay Bay Group. December is always a slow time at all the Casinos here in Vegas and normally not all that hard to get a decent priced room.

Good Morning Fish ! Everything you said is true especially the great Steak House but just the same it's a place so packed with screaming children that I'll take a pass. Did you ever go to the old Silver City ? That's where my wife was a cocktail waitress for many years until they closed the place over 5 years ago. It was actually run by the Circus Circus.
