Justin Verlander is expected to be called up to start the second game of Monday's doubleheader against the Indians.
He's expected to head right back to the minors after the start, but if he does well, there's a good chance he'll return not long after the All-Star break. AL-only leaguers may want to go ahead and take a chance on him now. Among pitching prospects, only Felix Hernandez is clearly better.

VERLANDER MAKES DEBUT IN MAJORS MONDAY

Former Old Dominion University pitcher Justin Verlander apparently will get his first major league start for the Detroit Tigers Monday versus Cleveland.

Less than a year into his first professional season, Verlander, currently No. 1 on Baseball America's weekly list of hottest prospects in the minors, will pitch the second game of a day-night double header against the Indians, according to The Richmond Times-Dispatch.

"You never know what can happen," Verlander said. "They told me [yesterday] that they had a sixth spot [in the rotation] open and I was the guy. I'm pretty stoked about it. Obviously, there will be some nerves involved [at Cleveland]," said the 22-year-old. "But I've pitched in some nerve-wracking situations before."

I have seen him pitch and this boy has talent. He is no ordinary ROOKIE as I sure many of you are now aware that he was called up from DOUBLE A ball, having skipped TRIPLE A...

I wish him the best!!!

Goodluck Shrink in your new venture. Don't worry though I will post at your new site and continue to bust your balls and talk Desperate Houswives smack because you're the only other man I know that admits to watching it. Are you ready for the new season?

Thanks Hitman...:howdy:

I am so psyched to watch this year's ODU Men's Basketball Team. This could be their BEST YEAR ever because they only had one SENIOR on last year's squad.

He was not that good either...

ODU made it to the Big Dance and gave Michigan State all they could handle...

I am PROUD of this team, I'll be attending their closed practiices again, so hopefully I'll get a good read on them...
