their "suspect" pitching is catching up to them. It wasn't a strong point heading into the season, and now hitters are getting to them. Not to say their staff is terrible, it's just that it's average at best. They pitched over their heads a bit so far. Bedard needs to get back. He'll help a lot. The pen is shackey. The offense never really did it for me, but can produce. Mora is big in that equation. Other than that, like Sherman said "in between".
Sosa has done nothing, he's not the same player, it will be interesting to see what kind of money he will command next year....the team has really been killed by injuries,and they don't have the pitching depth to overcome them...even when they were playing great ball, it was mainly the top three batters, Roberts, Mora, and Tejada , night in and night out who were literally carrying them....
With a largely older veteran line-up and un-proven pitchers wasn't it expected that injuries would hit and hit them hard?
