Boy does baseball ever need the Yankees to be back in the thick of the playoff race!!

The Yankees will eventually win the division by around 5 games I think. I am not even a Yankee fan, but they would be my favorite American League team to make the playoffs. I wouldnt want to watch any other American League team in the playoffs

Again? Wow, PO69 you really are serious? What about todays game made you think this team can win, was it the fact they blew an 8 run lead and overcame it? Pitching just isn't there.

Baseball needs the Yankees in the playoffs like I need a .357 Magnum shot in the head. I would enjoy the playoffs just fine without them thank you very much. In fact, if the Yankees don't make the playoffs I declare that day a universal, world and national holiday. So ordered.

Well today wasnt exactly the yankees best starting pitcher. But the fact that they stayed in the game and came back for the win showed some heart.

Now if Sammy Sosa ever comes back to form then Baltimore might have a chance

I will take Mussina, Johnson and Pavano over alot of other teams pitchers!

Johnson will start to dominate again this season, you will see! And Kevin Brown has the potential to be dominate as well

The NYY are just an average team. Blowing a 6 run lead and then needing an Oriole meltdown to pull out the victory does not give any indication that they are going to overtake the Red Sox. The Red Sox better do something about Foulke though. He is horrible.

The AL East is wide open. With New York you never know which team you are going to get. The Yankees are starting to become the New York Rangers of hockey. Great names, little in the way of results. Boston has the best offense in the game but there bullpen sucks something needs to be done there cause if not Boston isn't running away with it. Baltimore looks good too but injuries are really effecting this team but there starting pitching is good, bullpen is quite good and there lineup can more than hold there own. The Jays are only 5 games out. Toronto has the best pitcher not wearing a white sox uniform and there bullpen is soild. Lineup has trouble scoring runs but a mid season trade if they decide to go for it could cure that.

LMAO....I'm going to refrain from posting something that I would surely regret in the future....but it is JJesque....:icon_conf

I have been surprised not to see more Allstar chat here the last few days...ala the Smoltz start etc. ?

I don't think all star game draws as much intrest as it use to.
Very much agreed ...why do you think that is ? I think the home run contest is way too long and MLB not using the ad dollars as effectively as possible ...radio, print,etc...

When I was a kid and JMan too...we loved the Allstar season with those Slurpee cups and card packs...just not the same...no one guy now is a hero this year...Bonds out...Sosa having a horrific year....and all the hype is about Codero(sp?) - a closer.... who cares...Braves suck - nobody knows the players in Atlanta.

I hope the Nationals win the NLCS ... a good story atleast.

It seemed it use to be more of an honor to the players to be picked, now it seems like they don't give a shit...begging off not to play.

The AllStar game is nothing like it once was...I think part being a kid and enamored with al the legendary players was a big part of it, but also the leagues did want to win the game, and very passionately.

The NL felt like it was the dominant league and rightfully so, winning almost every game for two decades... the 1971 AS game, will always stand out.

Goodness, they are on pace to win 84 ball games at the half way point....everytime this team has a rally, we see 'here come the Yankees'

...84 wins people :howdy: ...roughly 3 million dollars per win:icon_conf :103631605
