No matter how poorly they play , or even the fact that Randy Johnson has an ERA of 4.27 and has been very inconsistent with his fastball ,the Yankees still getting the respect of the oddsmakers/bettors...

-200???

Lopez is a very solid pitcher, injuries finally caught up with Balto but this line seems outrageous:icon_conf

Lopez is 5-3 lifetime vs NYY but a very poor ERA over 6....

Johnson has never pitched well vs Baltimore (5-7 4.43 ERA) but most of that was while he was with the Mariners.

EZ money Journeyman, you know what to do. Yankee fans are having a day of national rejoicing over a win and red sox bullpen blowup.

problems- yankee middle relief is pitifull. their starting pitching isnt good either. did you see those clowns they trotted out there yesterday? yankees look good when they score 13 runs, bad when not hitting. not a good team overall.

I simply do not understand how Yankee team and their fans CONTINUE to say
" This will be the thing that sparks them" over some unimpressive win.

There is nothing there to spark, they are doing their best but are mediocore. they need defense, speed, starting pitching, bullpen, youth, better production from 5-9 hitters and depth. (They have no bench). Aside from all that, $205 million has bought them a wonderfull team

I'll be on Orioles today. And if anyone wonders this post is not being bitter about game yesterday, I passed on Orioles.

as for the Red Sox, their problems should be fixable. need to pick-up a set-up man in trade and a closer. Make Foulke a set-up man for time being.

Need to get a closer ASAP though. I'm sure Theo is on the phones today exploring options.

When Shilling comes back a Boston starter will have to go to the pen, possibly Arroyo. That will add some much needed depth there.

Yankees will have giant holes all season as they have little to trade to shore up roster. Red Sox have some prospects to trade and only need bullpen help. Rest of team is fine. OK starting pitching hasnt been that good, but talent is there to look for some improvment in second half. Need especially of course Schilling to be healthy and pitch like last year that would work wonders and give them the ace they are lacking

Johnson pitching on 3 day's rest. Yankee bullpen worked 5+ innings yesterday.

Still Baltimore is in freefall and the Yankee bats are heating up.

anyone wanting to bet on the Orioles today, wait. Yankee fans seem to think there team is about to rip-off a 18-2 run. Yankees will be getting bet up all day and especially from 5-7 when people get off work. Orioles are +188 now, probably will be +200 by gametime.

I'll be taking Orioles +200 for a big bet :dancefool

good point, Orioles are in a freefall. thats bad to bet on.

+200 is too much though. Yankee bats are inconsistent. Guys lile ARod , Sheffield, they produce. When guys like Giambi who are a lot more miss than hit these days, have a nice day, Yankees look good. Giambi had 2 HR's yesterday.

Don't expect that again.

RJ looks terrible this season...only good games were in interleague play.

The old man is pitching on 3 days rest. He hasn't pitched on 3 days rest since 1995.

Injuries and roster moves forced set-up man Tanyon Sturtze into the starting rotation. Proctor, Anderson, and Franklin pitched extended duty yesterday. NO BULLPEN TODAY.

Lopez is 1-0 with a 3.77 ERA in 2 starts this year against the Yankees.

This line is a joke...not saying the Yankees won't win, but -200 is ridiculous.

As long as the public keeps taking the bait, they will keep making the line that way.

Does it not prove that squares opinion matter most in high profile games?

Then when the line seems really sharp in a low profile game, that's becuase they know it's devoid of sqaures for the most part.

Line making is not a linear science.

CLIP JOINT..

A line is to try and get both side action..we both now that..If the YANKS were lets say..-68..I believe only because Johnson is pithching the players would pound the YANKS..

At 200..now the ORIOLES start lookin better...The 200 says If you like the YANKS put your $$$ where your mouth is..

DECISIONS...DECISIONS..

Like myself the human factor takes over and I still like the hometeam..

It doesn't matter if the Yanks are -250...people will still pound the Yanks.

My point was just that this line is off. There is no value on playing the Yankees regardless of whether or not they win this game today.

I was out and I missed the start of the game without getting a bet in, just took Orioles +212 at WSEX for a normal bet. Johnson looks good in the second inning and I'm giving up a 1/2 inning, so no big bet for me.

Orioles are going to fight hard, they need a win.

The AL EAST is not blessed with a great starting rotation or bullpen. The RED SOX starters have been avg at best, but Shilling is coming back and this will help. The O'S have been using a smoke and mirror rotation, but now the smokes gone and their team is falling apart w/injuries. The Yankees rotation is VERY old and old pitching staffs fail down the stretch, plus the MFY don't like eachother. Holloday is the best in the AL EAST, and his team is only 4.5 games back.
SOX win the AL EAST by 5 games, but second is anyones guess. MAY'N!

I still think the Yankees will win this division. They will get a centre fielder and another bullpen guy at the deadline. After all the turmoil they are only 4 games back, not a good sign for the rest of the division.

turning the game off now, at least I missed the start cause I would have bet more before the game.

Jeeeesssussss, that play was bad. 3 errors for the O's now. They are ice cold.

Will probably go into Boston this weekend and win 3 of 4 after rolling over and playing dead in NY.
