I can't see any logical reason why this game should not go over the 9. Both pitchers, Padilla and Redman, are in horrible form, with ERA's over 8 their last 3 outings. Although Philly's offense went to sleep today against Wells, they knock the cover off lefties, and Redman is a lefty. Weather should be warm and humid in Pitts small ballpark. Philly exhausted their pen today when their starting pitcher left after just one inning.

Larry Vanover is an under umpire so far in 2005, 10-of-14 under.

2004 was a wash at 16-17 O/U.

But 2003 went under 21-of-30.

Total L3 years: 48-29 O/U.

Thanks for the info. Are you on the under? Also, can you please tell me where you get info on who is umping the games a day in advance? My problem is I can find info on the umps tendencies, but don't have info on who is umping the game until it begins.

No, I'm not on the under, just sharing info.

I agree with your thoughts on the over potential. If the umpire was neutral I'd be on the over, but I tend to shy away from those wide strike zone umpires when I'm playing the over.

You might consider playing a team total instead if you are leaning to one team offense vs. other team's pitching.

That's 29-48 O/U (I had it reversed)

Umpires rotate clockwise. So for any game in a series except the first one, the umpire at 1st base last game will be home plate umpire next game.
