Girl i'm seeing is a flight attendant for Continental. Her plane lands from at Newark today. The Pilot sits at the end of the runway for five min. He finally comes on the loudspeaker and tells everyone "We had a small mechanical problem, a glitch in the system, we'll be pulling in after it gets straighten out."
10 mins later, four fire trucks and a SWAT team pull up on to the plane. The SWAT team pulls up one of those movable stairways next to the door. The guy goes to the top and screams at the other flight attendant to open the door, which she does and six of them storm the plane. They go right down the aisle and up to her ask her if everything is ok. She says "sure".
Long story short, seems there's an electrical device on the plane that goes off in case of a hijacking and it malfunctioned. Of course they can't believe the pilot when he tells the control tower "nothing is wrong, it's just a malfunction." so they storm the plane just in case.
