The Angels look like the best team in baseball and the Dodgers must be absolutly sick over this. The only bad thing is the original Angel fans in the days of Fregosi, Chance, Knopp, Rogers etc will now be pushed out by the Hollywood and corporate types that will take over and push the lifelong fans out. We supported the teams that went 62-100 and are the true fans.
I think the Angels are one starting pitcher away from being the best. Right now they have Colon and everyone else. Their other guys are serviceable, but they could use another stud for the playoffs. Although they won the World Series with Washburn as their ace and Kevin Appier throwing meatballs out there a few years ago. But their lineup is extremely well put together, they play good defense, and their bullpen is rock solid. Plus Mike Scioscia is the best manager in the game, my apologies to Bobby Cox fans.
Angels looked like total garbage when Vladdy was hurt, I think Padres would beat them in a series. Jose Guillen single handed beat Angels and Mike Sciosia is like a piece of garbage. However good this team is suppose to be, they would be MUCH better with JOSE GUILLEN. Angels been beating up on weak teams.
The intrigue to the season is escalating, as the trades to come could greatly enhance any of the top contenders.
I think Anaheim needs another starter, as Rail's right, they have hammered bad teams the last month, but McPherson coming alive has aided Erstad, Anderson, and Guerrero's return.
Boston, CWS, & Anaheim rate over all NLers..except St.Louis..which is a toss-up..with Yanks & Clev starting to climb..Texas and Balt showing their fleas..also Minny yo-yo'ing Johan style.
Sans an absolute peak form Cards(only NLer winning on road to date), Braves, Nats, or Pads, I'm beginning to think that the NL may well be in big trouble come WS time once again.
