Boston -112 (2 units)...Despite shutting out Clev on Saturday, Cabrera hasn't proven to me that he can consistantly shut down good hitting teams like Boston. He has failed to put in a good performance vs. The Sox yet in 3 attempts. Wells has had his struggles, but he usually pitches a beauty when it's needed. The pressure shifts to Tejada to carry this offense with the injuries and struggles of Sosa, Palmeiro, and Roberts. He's given Wells problems, so he may be pitched around all day. With the Yankees poised to pounce on Bos, the Sox would love to finish off the O's hopes for contending after the Break.
Philadelphia -136 (1 unit)...Could be tough going for the heralded rookie, Duke. Philly will be looking to get the bats going against this rookie Lefty. They hit most LHP they've seen this season. Myers was very good for the Phils last time out, and I'm confident he'll build on that last outing. Duke will be very good, just like Det's Verlander, but when you're playing teams that are in the thick of contention, the living gets a little hard.
NY Mets/Washington OVER 8 (-113) (1 unit)...Looking for the bats to breakout a bit in the finale. Both these Starting Pitchers have had consistancy and stamina issues. These 2 bullpens are good, which is a concern, but we'll have 5 or 6 innings of Benson and Armas. Don't be concerned if the lineups feature some subs today, some of the benh players are the ones with good histories vs. these hurlers.
