Would you help someone you knew was going to get hurt/killed? Or would you go to the sports and financial section and make a killing?

I'm asking this question on a off shore wagering site....probably a dumb question.

Unfortunately, I would have to take the "help someone" route, but only if I knew them or they were a 'prominent' figure assasinated or an avoidable action such as the London terrorist act or 9/11.

If they were some joe that got creamed by a bus because they fell asleep drunk in the road..... I don't know about that one... Hmmmm. I sure would feel bad about not helping those that I knew I could, but life is life, in general.....Hmmmmm.

I'll tell you what: give me the paper and I'll call you from my new yacht and let you know what I did! tulsa

I'd bet a 15 team parlay at every major book and put in as many of the dogs and special spreads as I could.

I'd go enter all the lotterys I could.

That takes like a half an hour, so there is still plenty of time to save people.

I wish I could have saved the kid who died in Ayer on July 3rd.

I THINK the point is you can only do ONE or the OTHER. tulsa

I think it would be very difficult to help someone of prominence. Take yesterdays bombings for instance....would you call the embassy and say "I KNOW this is going to happen. Evacuate the underground" It just wouldn't happen.

I would help as many "small guys" as i could as i think it would be more easily accomplished. It would have to be all about timing. Call up Joe Schmo and say "Don't drive on Interstate 77 today" and just hang up. Hey, i only have about 12 hours to work with here....i can't explain it to everyone.

THEN i would go directly to the bank and take out the max loan they would offer me.

THEN i would go directly to Charles Schwab with said check....

I was thinking of that also, they would probably arrest you if you did that.

Doesn't Bucsfan have tomorrows newspaper every day?

His picks are money. Just throws in a few losers so as to not make it so obvious.

But you can do this with natural ability Dante. How about that one time I said please post a big dog for us, and you posted some team in college hoops +2000 and it hit and then people were happy they won with it, and you couldnt believe it happened becuase you said you were only kidding but no one knew that.

What a moment

I'd get the winning lottery numbers and use the money to help the families of the people I didn't save.

sports section making a killing
yup. Going to need some beards though.

Shouldnt be hard to gather up 100 or so guys to hammer every book you can think of. You just start a thread: "Hey guys, I have tommorow's newspaper and I'm not kidding. Please Email me to help move some money."

No problemo.

Hammering books off shore would not yield as much as national or state lotteries and that money would have legal trail. Most books have parlay limit payoffs as well. But since it's all a fantasy then it's a pointless point since the thread is more about financial vs humanitarian.

Well I guess I would choose saving the person.

Becuase if I conquer gambling, what is left?! I'll be bored out of my mind. All there would be left to do at that point is waive my money in people's face and terrorize them on posting forums like some other people do.

Let's save the people. Pandora's money box stays closed.
