I had them just outside the top 5...Since the Huskers are not the force they have been....do you go to many games Royal?

1-Notre Dame Stadium - nothing beats it for a big game atmosphere
2-Doak Campbell Stadium (FSU)
3-The Swamp (LSU)
4-Texas A&M Stadium (can't remember the name)
5-BYU's Stadium

Honorable mention-Washington, Tenn, Oregon, Boise, Georgia, Nebraska, Wisc

Didn't mention Mich because the stadium is not loud and fans are generally laid-back.

There's no experience like going to a game at the L.A. Colisseum.
I'm always looking for an excuse to head down to South Central.

Definitely have the right 1-2 in debatable order(especially if tailgating, size, loud environs, and electricity are required), and anyone that doesn't have either in their top 5 hasn't been to a big game at either, but some would argue that UGa, ATM, South Carolina, Auburn, Ohio St, and Wisky have a better vibe than does the Big House?

I've never been to a Nebraska game, so I do not know about noise, but if winning and fans wearing school colors count, then "The Sea Of Red" should be up there.

From firsthand experience, I can tell you Joe Jemayel Field(Texas), isn't up to SEC standards in terms of electricity, despite being nice, clean, and having a winner in house, but beer at nearby Schulz Garden on the patio is top shelf.

I am sorry for using the "R" word - and NOTHING EL

The 5 Places I would lOVE to see a game at are:

Lincoln
Touchdown Jesus
LSU - Night game ONLY
Oregon (The field is shaped so that the field is down low and the fans are "on top" of the field and it makes for one of the loudest stadiums out there)
Hawaii (Don't really care about the game - I am in HI - that is all I care about) ***Seriously - Camp Randall in Wisky - to see the upper deck swaying up and down from the fans celebrating would be unreal - and those folks know how to have a gooooood time!***

The one thing I am assuming is it is NOT the "Rivalry" game - like Bama/Auburn, Michigan/Ohio State - you get the point

If we are talking Rivalries then my T5 are:

The Civil War (Doesn't get a lot of notoreity - mostly because the game is played in Oregon - but I have heard from TOO MANY PEOPLE who have been to these games this is one of the nastiest rivalries out there)

The Iron Bowl (We've heard stories - and they are all true - I am sure)

Michigan/Ohio State (Although having to be in MI or OH that time of year must suck - weather wise)

Army/Navy (The environment must be amazing)

World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party (I don't drink a lot - but any game that has this name MUST be a reallllllllllllllly fun place to be)

You play... to win... the game

Rough call... are we talking about hardest places to go play or best atmospheres? Because if it's best atmosphere's, I'd go something like this...

1) Big House
2) South Bend
3) Rocky Top
4) Lincoln
5) Horseshoe

College Station (Tex A&M) is a very good one... same with the Bayou... but how does no one even MENTION the Big House!

But if you want to talk about loudest stadiums... I've been in the Swamp, the Orange Bowl, the Citrus Bowl, and certainly the Doak (or currently *gasp!* Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium), but the absolutely loudest place I've ever been in is freakin' Clemson... yes, I was there when the bastard Tigers beat us two years ago...

Very good list of rivalry games. I definately want to hit each of those once in my lifetime.

I would pick South Bend over any other venue...its just that Notre Dame has become so boring, the game would put me to sleep....

Obviously it is the mecca of college football....Just looking up at Touchdown Jesus would give me chills.

Will only rank places I have been to games at

1 Clemson - Death Valley (very redneck, very loud, very fun)
2 Washington - Huskie Stadium (very cold)
3 Notre Dame - Notre Dame Stadium
4 Oregon - Autzen Stadium
5 Auburn - Jorden Hare Stadium (drunk rednecks)
6 Nebraska - Memorial Stadium (I had a press pass, on the field)
7 Florida State - Doak Campbell (only good for big games)
8 GA Tech - Bobby Dodd (very small, intimate experience)
9 Texas Tech - Jones Stadium (always fun to throw tortillas)
10 Alabama - Bryant Denny (they should play ever game here)
11 Ohio State - Horseshoe (big let down)
12 Texas - Memorial Stadium (what's the score?)
13 Miami - Orange Bowl (Do you speak English?)
14 Oklahoma - Memorial Stadium (would be ranked higher but I hate OU)
15 Oregon State - Reyser Stadium (David v. Goliath thing gets old)
16 Alabama - Legion Field (great tradition, bad neighborhood, no reason)
17 Michigan -TheBig House (Not nearly as loud as you would think, dull)
18 Florida - Ben Hill Griffin (Not bad, but I hate the Gators)
19 NC State -Carter Finley (Very boring, sterile place to have a game)
20 UCF - Citrus Bowl (sucks ass, but i had a press pass)

AFLGuru - Have you been to the Big House? For 110,000 people, the way the stadium is layed out lets the noise out. The campus is great on game day, but the Big House is far from intiminating. Spartan Stadium is louder - and an awesome campus too. Really know how to party in East Lansing.

I love the ND-USC weekend in South Bend. Always the middle of October when it is peak color. USC brings the full band, and Notre Dame marches the band from the student union past Touchdown Jesus and the student body follows into the stadium. Always helps that USC travels very well with 10,000+ fans. If they are undefeated coming to SB on 10/15, it could be a very special game. If anyone is going to it, let me know as there will be major tailgating going on.

Kind of surprised no one mentioned West Virginia. Gotta be a lot of drunk rednecks at that stadium too.
