I'm sure that the majority here prefer watching & following the NCAA rather than the NFL for their own reasons, with the most popular being that they feel the kids playing for free do it with much more passion and heart. But for me, it has always been the NFL. I like seeing the best of the best, "THE" elite. The talent level/difference between the 2 leagues is indescribable. Just curious how many, if any, feel the same.................

I used to love the NFL as a boy growing up in the 80's, rooting on the cardiac Cowboys.

I think CBS & Fox have completely turned a good sport into an afternoon napper. They absolutely SUCK! ESPN does a great job with the Sunday Night game. They are AWESOME. ABC is not bad on Mondays. But the boredome they feed us on Sunday afternoons is unreal.

The NFL is second to college primarily because of the schit networks they allow themselves to be represented by on Sunday afternoons.

I enjoy watching and have much more success laying money on NCAA than I do the NFL.

College football for myself. It used to be the NFL but to me it is becoming like the NBA. Unwatchable.

Loved the NFL when I was a kid, and you could follow a team (and the players) for 9-10 years.

Niners...with Montana, Rice, Lott, Michael Carter, Randy Cross, Harris Barton, Roger Craig, John Taylor, Tom Rathman, etc.

But then:

1) Free agency made it difficult to "bond" with a team. The players change every 2-3 years.

2) I went to college and became a college football fanatic. The stadium atmosphere is incredible, the gameday atmosphere is incredible. Nothing beats a college night game. You start tailgating @ 8am, and everybody is CRAZY by 7pm.

When I think of NFL fans, I think of guys watching the game on their sofa. They've got some chips, beer, soda, etc. They consider this dedication.

When I think of college fans, I think of guys spending hundreds (thousands?) of dollars on tailgate equipment, just so they can enjoy several hours on campus before the big game. And don't forget, lots of them drive 4-5 hours just to attend the game.

I went to a Ravens game a few years ago, and they played crowd-noise over the speakers. Pathetic.

Funk Monkey,

I agree. Free agency has not helped the NFL's appeal. However, the startes in college change every two years which is more than the NFL. But I totally agree, the college game is 1,000 times more exciting than the NFL. I think the marching bands have a lot to do with it too. But I still maintain the biggest thing broken with the NFL right now is CBS & FOX.

NFL for me, I like Coll Football but do not like Postseason in College because it really doesn't exist. I also can nail the NFL as far as the Betting is concerned but not that confident in College, except I can hold my own in the Pac 10

If you ask Terrell Owens, he is basically playing for free.
