The mid-summer classic may not be what it use to be from a fan standpoint, but we all have a play or two that stand out, what are they?

The American League's Reggie Jackson follows through on a towering third inning home run with a man on base in All-Star game in Detroit on July 13, 1971. National League pitcher is Dock Ellis of the Pittsburgh Pirates and catcher is Johnny Bench.

I was not alive but I would have to say the 1970 All Star game when Pete Rose ran over the catcher (cant remember name) at the plate is the #1 All Start highlight of all time.

Ray Fosse, his career was never the same after that....Fosse was a catcher for the Indians, who finished 1970 batting .307 with 18 homers....he never had another season close to that...

The 1983 All-Star Game marked the fiftieth anniversary of the Midsummer Classic. Did you know that the first Midsummer Classic (1933 All-Star Game) was also played in Comiskey Park?

During the third inning the American League set All-Star Game records for hits during a single inning (they had six) and runs scored during a single inning (they had seven).

The grand slam by Fred Lynn during the third inning off a 2-2 Atlee Hammaker pitch was also a record as it was the first and only "grand salami" ever hit in All-Star history. Those "ducks on the pond" were: Manny Trillo (3B), Rod Carew (2B) and Robin Yount (1B

im thinkin i gotta go with Cal's HR against Chan Ho Park...huge Orioles fan, and i hate when people say "oh he threw it write down the middle, it was so easy to hit that."

uh no it's not easy, he threw that at least 90, Cal was old, it's hard hitting a ball out of the park to begin with, let alone on that grand of a stage- and im sure since Chan Ho was actually decent back then, his fastball had to have a little movement on it too. That moment was incredible...

Least favorite moment? Cedo Gaston managing IN CAMDEN YARDS and not putting one pitcher in the game, the one player you'd think fors ure would get in....MIKE MUSSINA. and that's why the Blue Jays are destined to never win another championship. Nice work Cedo

The catch by Torri Hunter to rob Bonds. that was just a sick leap robbing one of the most prolific HR hitters of all time.

I was at my GF's house. I remember getting off the couch and exclamating "OHHHH WHAT A CATCCCHHH" my GF was quiet she was probably like sit the F back down

Have to admit, I had a soft spot for California back then...

Reggie had recently left the Yanks, and joined the Halos.

To this day, I still have the Angels away jersey with

Jackson's name an' number sewn on the back.

I liked how Randy Johnson gave Kruk and Larry Walker buzz cuts with the high hard one. I think that was two different All-Star games, too

underrated one: Gagne in the middle of his consecutive saves record, comes into the game in the 9th, blows the lead, and Blalock blasts a homerun off him (i think it was his rookie or 2nd year?). AMazing. Gagne proceeded to notch like 30 more saves and break the record, except for one specail night when he got rocked by all-stars...
