Well watched the last hour or so, what an amazing race and a great show of teamwork was on display today. As good as Lance Armstrong is, one must point out how vital his team was today on a stage like this....
The Discovery team took over the Peloton and imposed a very fast rhythm the last 30 or so kilometers which were all brutal and uphill....As they progressed up the mountain, one by one they started falling out, saving energy to help Lance in tomorrows stage.
The end result of this brutal rhythm was the peloton completely falling apart, one by one up the hill....leaving behind almost all of the so called favorites....
Jens Voigt, the leader up until today lost like 15 minutes just on those last 20-25 kms...... Ulrich lost about 2 minutes, Vinokourov lost a bunch, etc etc....
What a freaking show of teamwork.......
I remember someone asked how teamwork was possible in cycling in a thread a couple weeks ago, today was a perfect example....
