Better sign up bonuses for non-Neteller deposits

I have spoken with a few sports books this afternoon from list of what I feel are solid books. I am noticing that they are all offering better bonuses for deposits made via Western Union than they are for deposits made via Neteller. They are providing almost no incentive for a player to post up via Neteller or Firepay.

Any idea why this is? I can't imagine anything being more expensive than Western Union or Money Gram.

Thanks,

It is not strange...

first of all, Western union is the best thing to cash in the industry...Western union transfers once picked up can not be revoked, to altered in any way since the money is in the books hand.

All other transfers including Netteller have way to much bullshit tied to them and books are constantly being hit by all kinds of clever scams and recieving money from accounts that have been hacked or stolen..

It is simple logic that books prefer that people use Western union and thus are willing to offer them incentives to do so...

Also, Western union deposits dont receive genuine transfers. Some of these bonuses are given as a refund of the transfer fees (but are still subject to those bogus roll over rules and b/s like that)

Books,

I can not see how they would get a ton of deposits with WU as there top choice...NO WAY it is better then neteller...Or for that matter I do not think MORE people use WU then neteller , I think its lopsided in favor of NT ..so how can that benefit the book to have less post ups,but bigger bonus using only WU especially with neteller instacash ?

Maybe good going in, but player gets screwed coming out, I'm confident big players don't use WU very much.

What constitutes "big players"?

I was also under the impression that netteller had restrictions on the amounts one can send using their services? Am i wrong ?(dont have a netteller account so i dont know how it works)

Interestingly -- Betfair are now allowing $50k in and out via Neteller, which rather puts a mockery to the $2500 limit of some books.

you dont pay for most amounts over 1k at most books i think.. Most books put the sending fees in your account.

Moving over $999 via WU will get you on some kind of "list"......

Not sure of the specifics, but I don't like the concept at all.

WU is US based, Neteller is not.

Encouraging people to go the Western Union route is not going to slow the scam problem down one bit. The people who have intentions of scamming a book are not going to use Western Union. If this is the sportsbooks idea of stopping scammers, they are wasting there time.

I guess maybe Neteller and Firepay fees are steeper than we thought. We just don't see the fees, the books do.

No matter what people say about western union there are many who prefer this option. its quick and relatively hasslefree. Books know this and aren't in a hurry to get rid of it as a deposit option. But the fees for western union can get a bit much so why not offer a bonus?

Also, if you use neteller with some books they pick up the fee for the transfer. not much need to offer a bonus there imo

I agree D2B...for them to be pushing WU is a surprise to me. Geez-how bad are the fees????

yeah but what you are not sharing, is they are charging 1.5% to send funds VIA neteller,

(although it is FREE for the next 3 months as a PROMOTION)

Canbet do display the fee they pay when you deposit

My last deposit there was just over 600 to play a tennis game, and the fees they paid on that deposit were around $18, which is about 3%.

Think about the players who use each. NT players are likely the most experienced with the longest time in the business. WU is the way first timers post up. I bet 99% of the people on here used WU the very first time they sent money offshore. First timers now only use NT because they find out that is the only way to use a CC and make a deposit.

Its subtle things like this that separate the good marketing minds. Knowing exactly who your target customer is goes many levels deep.

Correct Savant -- but I'd much rather they charge on the deposit than withdrawl, and from what I understand they are considering comission kickbacks after the 3 months has expired.
