Well, not really the IRS, but the State, to say they will get back to you in 30 days, and it is on day 71 now?

I was told my admendment was in Audit, and would be contacted within 30 days, but have not heard from them.....could this be because they owe me about 1K, and not the other way around?

I saw a news special once on 60 Minutes, the reporter went to th IRS and asked for an audit...a year later the guy was still not audited .

Most states are so overwhelmed when it comes tax time, this wouldn't surprise me a bit.

It's very normal in the state where I live for them to take 12 weeks for amended return refunds.
