</TD></TR><TR><TD height=17>Virgin has prevented US players from accessing its casino and poker sites to-date, and the firm insisted this would remain its policy when the skill gaming site goes live.

“We will not be cross-selling our gambling products to our US players,” Russ Sleight, director of marketing at Virgin Games, said.

But it will mark the firm’s first steps into the massive US egaming market, and Sleight conceded Virgin’s exposure to the US market was constantly under review.

The UK Gambling Act, which will come into effect in 2007, is expected to allow UK-licensed operators to accept US casino and poker bets.

Virgin’s skill gaming offering will be developed through a deal with software firm Fun Technologies.

And Virgin is believed to be committed to a marketing spend on skill gaming in line with its bingo and casino sites.

“Skill gaming is a very Virgin proposition and we are going to enter the market running on this one,” Sleight said.

“This is a mass-market product and it is ready to be taken forward by a major land-based brand,” he added.
