Close call last night...some bad luck that didnt end up costing much except a couple of fingernails.Today I dont see much..I like this though:
CUBS -160....Maddux hasnt been all too consistent but hes coming off a superb outing vs the Marlins and has a team supporting him that is rolling offensively avg 6.6 runs per game over the L7.Add to that the Pirates have been downright embarrassing on the road going 18-28 and avg. only 4.0 rpg.In the last 7 games the Bucs have only avgd. 3.1 rpg.Plus they struggle mightily to hit RHP.On the road the Pirates hit .243 vs righties,in the last 10 that number drops to .226.They avg only 3.6 rpg vs RH starters.The Cubs on the other hand hit lefties extremely well. .298 vs LH pitching in Wrigley this year and 5.3 rpg vs LH starters.Zach has been pretty good out of the gates but my gut feeling is hes in trouble today.Maddux has pitched well vs the Bucs in the past allowing 2,2,3,0 and 1 ERs in his last 5 starts vs them respectively.Cubs are 7-1 in the last 8 meetings and SHOULD continue that runs today IMO.
