When I think of winning gamblers I think of Sudan and Mongolia. They probably have 15 guys that actually gamble on-line with that infrastructure and one guy won
U.S. with the most on-line access would of course be the lowest with the most bettors. Numbers still look scewed.

Those stats do not surprise me in the slightest. I live in canada and one man and a dog have a proper bet in canada so if that dog is up it wouldn't surprise me but the professional gamblers i have met in the UK are far more knowledgable than their counterpart in the US. They generally have their own analysis and take matters more seriously. It is not just recreation.
Competion is also a huge factor and that Uk bettor will hold more accounts. Further the betting profile is different - a much greater percentage of winners would be in the horse racing category in the UK. Not many people would be up on sports the UK either and the ones that do specialise on one sport not like Americans who bet anything thats on TV.

I would like more info about "this survey" too. Anybody can throw numbers out there...how they were derived and who did the work is the key.
Winbet loves to stick it to us mugs on this side of the pond. Those numbers may be accurate, because anybody with any sharpness is asked to leave a British book after a few plays. So it would appear the Brits are the squares that stick. No surprise there. I learned a lot from Bet365. They are the best at politely telling you to get fucked. Or get shagged. "Our traders have decided you are not the type of client we can beat long term." No pint in hand betting first goal. Besides, the Brits are the best dart throwers I know. It's all jolly good.
