This question has stumped me. So many beautiful girls I went to school with and keep in touch with just let themselves go. So many get fat and don't seem to care. It's like not taking care of a luxury car. Some of you may be married to some of these women. Everywhere I go I see these enormous women who would be beautiful if they just put down the chicken parm....I realize there are many guys in this category also, but most guys are a bit less worried about how they look at any given time.

It depends on where you live and where you went to school (since you are referring to your old schoolmates)

There are some places i have been to where you are made to feel like if you dont get your ass in the gym, the village rebel rousers will come to your house late at night and torch it along with you and your family...

VT..I think it all depends on who that person may have as a spouse. Speaking from some one who is married, it has always been very important for my wife to keep herself in shape and to look good. We have friends who could careless what they look like as a couple and continue to sit infront of the T.V every night and eat chips and drink beer. My wife wants to look better than the 20 year old's I have working for me. I love it as well, even if it cost's me extra money to keep her looking that way. And since it is important for her to look good and be fit, I just follow.

if you guys have the sundance channel, a guy did a great documentary about fast food, namely mcdonalds. he ate mcd's 30 days straight nothing else.

check it out and see what happened to this perfectly healthy guy.

his liver turned like an alcoholic liver.

everything else went to hell.

his 3 doctors were in shock

we are a fast food culture.

Whats my number one inspiration for getting out of the house and doing something physical, the site of a morbidly obese fella (or even worse yet the memory of some very fat girls who hang out at the pool!!!! arrrgghh blue veriscose veins under arm flubber triple chins and cellulite bleauuuuaacccchhhhh!!!!).....Dont mean to offend fat people, but obesity is indeed a deadly condition as bad or even worse than smoking, not only is it dangerous for the owner of the fat but it is also unquestionably disgusting to look at when one reaches some abnormal levels...(And please dont tell me how god made people in his image....Yes he made them, but he didnt force them to drink to much beer, eat chicken all day...Matter of fact god abhors laziness and gluttony!!!!

Yeah Supersize me was great. I really didn't intend to offend anyone with a weight problem with the thread. I guess I just don't understand why you wouldn't care. We're talking late 20's, 30's women who look like hell. I run every freaking day b/c I refuse to look like that. Even if I was married, I wouldn't accept that.

I highly recommend it to anyone, it was up for an academy award, Morgan Spurlock who made it has a good series that started on the FX channel called 30 days. Not all episodes deal with food, it's a take on different aspects of our society, entertaining. I believe he is onto something, a whole education process that our society is lacking. VT you were saying in another thread your a teacher, Have you showed it to your class?, met one recently who did it. She said she got some flack but all in all a success.

Have take a real look of what your eating, with all those preservatives. My brother is an organic farmer in Oregon. Very simple, change small aspect of your diet and exercise 3 times a week. I'm in NY right now, been here for close to 6 months, have a bud who has tapped in to the organic thing. I can't say I see him eat much less and the weird thing is he does not exercise, he has lost 40 lbs since I've been here. He's also eating more asia dishes(ie. sushi ..etc..) also. How many obese asians are there? Not many.

Funny thing is yes I eat organic at times but really have not watched what I eat. I stay away from fast foods except subs and rarely drink soda pop but drink lots of water instead. Just changing these two things will make a difference. This NY food is great though so since I've been here I've gained 10-15 pounds:sad3: so I guess this is a case of do as I say not as I do.
