Change it to Smoltz (keep the ...tz part for the family) or somesuch? Pitching right now for Seattle is JJ Putz. He has to be good with a name like that. Cripes, I feel bad for him growing up...I guess I don't feel so bad for him if he is pitching in the major leagues now...but crikeys!!! What a bad name. tulsa

it could be worse - ALOT worse

You could write for the Baltimore Sun and have the name

"Peter Schmuck"

how'd ya like to have that name growing up? imagine how many fights he got into as a kid? and how'd ya like it when someone says, "There's Peter - he's a Schmuck!"

imagine if you were a female in that family? i'd get married at like age 12 to ANYONE with a different last name
