Probably a foolish question but I’m wondering how the tracker works on how many people are viewing a particular forum at any particular moment.

The reason I ask is I notice that the Hockey forum always lists 2 people viewing but most posts contained in it show a total of views you can count on two hands. Do you think it’s possible there are two diehard hockey fans that always have their PC connected to it in the unlikely event of a of a fresh post?

Or dare I think that two posters died sometime during the 301 day strike and no one has discovered the corpse?

Vic all it takes is for one registered poster or a online guest to open a folder, and then he or she registers as viewing that particular folder. Right now there are 1159 PCs logged on to the Rx. (330 members and 829 guests) any two of which could have been curious about the hockey forum.

Thank you sir.....however I still think it might be in everyone's best interests if we sent a paramedic just to be on the safe side.

Already doing my homework Savant. I really think the limited salary cap and rule changes will help the game tremendously. Lots of offense coming in this year’s draft as well. The day of totals hovering around five are history. I am so looking forward to it.

Maybe we will see teams in WInnipeg, Hamilton, Quebec City again,

who knows, maybe even in New Brunswick......

man, o man, I really think as these piss poor US markets start to fizzle up that we may get some of these cities back in the NHL.....

again, Hats OFF to Mr Bettman.

Hockey could use some serious contraction; four or five teams. You can forget about exciting, freewheeling hockey; until the league wises up and makes it four on four (which would be great for the games financial health due to lower labor costs) defense will dominate.

Man I haven’t had a pancake in years, so better not think about any maple syrup…BUT Tim Hortons does carry some terrific coffee.

I agree that no town is more deserving to have a team again than Winnipeg. Personally I’d love to see Nashville or Carolina relocate to north of the border but under the same salary cap that would suddenly make a Canadian city financially feasible to operate successfully the same result would occur in a city more suited for college basketball or country music.

Agree with Belch One….maybe rather than redesign the logistics, it’s time to think less is more.

Mr.Vic, I will start doing my pucks homework as well as my hardcore football homework at the end of the month. I figure the baseball value will be all dried up by then, and i can consindrate souley on these two sports.

It’s nice to hear from you Dan.

In my case I’m looking forward to any sport that can shake me from the funk that baseball has had me in since April. I love the sport and usually do pretty well with it but this year has been a losing battle. If I was smart I’d just follow Bucsfan, Dubpoet, or the countless other posters that have been gracious enough to put their picks up for free. But for me doing the research, (and own handicapping), is why I enjoy sports gambling.

As far as hockey, it’s hard to do any concrete planning with so much in the air. All I’ve been doing beyond reading the speculation of what will be included in the new CBA is looking at each team’s two year old roster, reading their local papers, and trying to figure out who will or will not fit into their cap. It’s clear that there will be a youth movement and my early feeling is teams like Pittsburgh, (with their abundance of young talent), will be the ones to watch. Of course the draft has much more to say about all this but I’ll be looking for teams that still have that loser tag because of past performance to sneak up on a unsuspecting public and ill-informed lines maker.
