With Football Season around the corner TheOffshoreWire has compiled a list of well known stiff books. Keeping players aware of the risks represented by rogue operations is one of the most important tasks of our Web site. These operations usually edge on punters unawareness of their past history to induce them to deposit. Rogue operators usually sound very courteous as long as punters lose. Things dramatically change once bettors build a balance and ask for a payout.

Always available managers become permanently unreachable because they are always "in a meeting" or "out for lunch". Courtesy is usually replaced by rudeness. Sometimes these sports books representatives hung up as soon as the player asking for a payout identifies himself.

We have compiled this list of stiff books still in operation with true stories of stiffed players.

English Sports Betting aka ESB aka Telebet

The King of all scam books. They have literally stopped paying punters since 3 years ago. They target offline players via telemarketing.

"I have over the $8,292.82 that is owed to me by ESB/Telebet. It has been owed to me for nearly 9 months. I call 2-3 times per week and I am lied to and given the run-around. Is there anything you can do to help me and the hundreds of others who have been defrauded from their money?" J.G.

"We'll I've now read a ton on how my book esb-english sports betting area bunch of scammers! Great site. I've been with them for 7 years now and I'm finally up enough to collect, up 2,300. When i called they keep saying to call monday between 9-12 eastern time. I read on another site that they have some phone # regognition system and it will be busy always once you request payout. Well that happened today!" M.P.

"I have had an accounts with ESB on and off for almost 6-7 years;in that time I have received payouts from $200-$300 (these occurred about 4 years ago). After signing up last September I began betting but I felt their operators were very difficult to deal with. When 2005 rolled in I asked for a small $200 payout, I was told to call back in 2 weeks, then one month, then ESB operators refused all payout requests. I was told if I stopped betting I would never receive anything, the more I asked for a payout the rudder operators and managers treated me. Today 6/13/5 I gave-up because they cursed and hung-up the phone." J.A.

ESB operates out of Ballinasloe, Ireland. Local Law Enforcement seems to be powerless against these crooks. TheOffshoreWire is currently busy setting up a class law suit in cooperation with SBR. Players stiffed by this scam book are invited to file their complaints with us at (link removed)

BetCasinoSports

Typical example of deposit only book. Their general manager, Steve Holt, always "takes care" of complaints with words.

"At this point I'm not even sure what the pending payout is. Originally 2 months ago I requested $2500, then a couple weeks after that I requested $1500. They kept putting me off and giving me excuses not to pay me, then last week I was told when I request that much it takes a long time for them to process, so I requested $500 last wednesday and I was told I would have it this wednesday because they process payments on Fridays and apparently it takes to wednesday? I also requested another $300 yesterday (thursday) I finally received $300 today, so I guess I'm not even sure if there is any pending or what is going on. To be honest I was surprised to get $300." D.S.

2003bettingsportsbook

One of a family of stiff book front ends all operated by Mr. Alonzo and Mr. Victor. These two gentlemen are amongst the most creative crooks when it comes to excuses not to pay players. Their latest excuse was "Its slow season and therefore things are slow here".

"This book has told me they are unable to process a $2,000 withdrawal. They are saying that this is the slow period and may be able to pay me in August. They also are unable to grade basketball future bets that were decided in April. They say they will resolve this "soon". At this point I am writing off the $8,200 they owe me." M.R.

Pro Football line and Odds

Same group of 2003bettingsportsbook, same lame excuses.

"Wed, June 15--I made a $3000 withdrawal request and was told if would "probably be processed next Wednesday". Friday, July 1--withdrawal hadn't been processed, so I called and was told, "Oh, it was supposed to have been processed Wednesday. I'll check to see what happened." Monday, July 4--I called back and someone named Mike said he would check and suggested I call back four hours later. I did, and learned he had gone for the day. His replacement, Franco, said he would check. I called him a couple of hours later and he said it would be processed by "Thursday at the latest." J.M.

Note: As to July 18th the player has not received his payout. We have contacted the book on his behalf several times and got the same runaround.

StKittscasino

Another rogue operation with a well documented track record of stiffing players.

"In April of 2001 I built a balance a little over $20K. When I wanted to be paid, they gave me the runaround for weeks before paying me back the $4K I originally deposited. After this, I received some of the winnings, in small amounts, over the next two months, and then after a $3000 withdrawl at the beginning of July they closed my account and stopped talking to me. I had about $10K in the account at the time." M.M.

Wagerfree

Scam operation run out of Nevada by Mr. Garet Bradford. He won't answer creditors but, as TOW directly tested, he is superfast in providing deposit information. Bradford tells players to deposit into his personal Neteller account.

"They do not respond to emails or phone calls for the last 5 months or so. I made a payout request through their website about 3 months ago but nothing happened." G.M.

SportsWageringOdds

Another victim of this scam book.

"my balance is 5,072 i requested a firepay payout tuesday morning for 5000,here is the problem,i have e mailed them several times about the status of the payout, they never respond,i called them several times, and soon as i give them my account number, they hang up,i used live chat, samething, give them my account number, and they never respond, they refuse to talk to me." M.M.

Note: The book told TOW the payout would have been processed within a couple of days. Needless to say the player did not receive his money.

Dimebetting

Ran by marketer John Vega this scam book still has its Web site up and running.

"My original payout request was made on 4/25/05 for $900, and I still have not received my funds." H.T.

"They do not answer the phone and do not respond to my emails. My balance is $1001.You know I feel really stupid as back in January I received an email from this John Vega which said that he considered me one of his best customers and because of that he was offering me an extra 30% bonus with no extra deposit required(at the time my balance was like $700 or so). The stipulation was that I had to roll it over 10 times and not make any withdrawals for 60 days. That kind of turned me off though so I did not accept it even though I have never made a withdrawal there, but it should have raised red flags I guess." B.M.
