4. Why do I see blurry pictures when I go to my house?
Google Earth combines data of different resolutions to offer a seamless viewing experience, so some locations look a bit blurry. We offer high resolution imagery (greater than 1-meter) for thousands of cities and more are on the way.

Pretty cool stuff. I can see my parking lot, but the cars don't match. How delayed are the images ? Major cities like Miami come in clear, but others you can't zoom-in very far.

I'm guessing it's delayed several hours or more and always gives daytime image ?

Some day I'll probably be able to zoom in on the road out my window and see cars pass by in real-time ?

I think some of the pictures are from quite a few years ago.

What if you back it in, or park in a crooked manner, how long until it shows the position correctly ? There's some delay, for sure, I doubt it's years, but maybe days !

It depends on the area and satellite.
In the picture of my house, it shows a blue van which my family sold about 2 years ago.
We also had some extensive work done about 7 years ago, and either I can't see it, or the picture is before then.

"Google Earth acquires the best imagery available, most of which is approximately one to two years old.

We recently launched our new Primary Database which includes:
- 15m imagery for the entire globe
- 90m terrain elevation mode data
- Updates to many US cities
- Major international expansion including, but not limited to, all major Canadian and Australian cities, Santiago, Buenos Aires, Rome, Naples, London, Luxembourg, Paris, Toulouse, Valencia, Barcelona, Lisbon, and Athens.
"

"ot all cities are covered in high resolution (where you can see individual buildings and cars) detail. We have more imagery of the United States than other countries currently. And because the imagery comes from a variety of sources, and is mosaic-ed together, it is difficult for us to specify the date of a city or region (a single city may have imagery taken from different months).

We are adding high resolution coverage continually, but we are not able to tell you when a specific area will be covered. The best way to find out if your area of interest is covered is to download the free version of Google Earth and check it out for yourself (Google Earth, Google Earth Plus, and Google Earth Pro share access to the same database)."

interesting ! I couldn't get a good view of Groton sub-base, which is probably good security. I don't need to see what ships are in port. I'll believe you about the blue van.

My old red F-150 should show up, as I worked nights a few years ago, but it's not there. I'd like to hear other observations of this !

Something that is neat, is clicking on a city that you will visit and then going to the left hand side and click on MALLS, stores, schools, ETC!!

Of course it doesnt show eveything, but it does show the places that have paid to be listed with google
