Got a couple of gems (all dogs) for all for Thursday.
Take Boston Red Sox +115 @ Chicago White Sox- I think the suit of armor that the White Sox wore during the first half is starting to get damaged. As, and Tigers have had success at US Cellular and along comes the WS Champs who are in a heated pennant race. Chicago's bats are becoming more and more a problem. The way I see this game is Buerhle and Clement are fairly even in this one but I like the big bats in the RED Sox lineup to be the difference. Ramirez,Varitek,Renteria, and maybe even a Millar sighting to come up with the big hits to provide enough runs to win on the road. Schilling starting to round into shape at the end to shut it down.
Take Detroit +135 vs Minnesota....I feel that Detroit may be the big mover and shaker in this division in the 2nd half. Maggs has brought this lineup some balance and power and makes it quite a bit tougher. Minnesota has Santana going but he is not pitching like he did ly. I really like what Tigers did last two days vs White Sox. I think that momentum will carry over into this one.
Take the Mets +128 vs Padres...Hard to go against Padres Peavy but to me the value rests in taking the home team in this one vs team from the west coast especially in a day game following a night game. Game scheduled to start a 915 am pacific time is a big advantage to the Mets. Mets have had tough opening schedule to the 2nd half but feel this team may have a run in them starting now. Don't discount Ishii knowledge of Padres as he pitched last couple of years with Dodgers. Like fact the only hot hitter for Pads is Giles who is lh. Otherwise lineup has been average to below avg of late.
