A couple questions to all.If I had a live horse wager for the RX.Where should I thread it (horse section/offshore talk)and most importantly where would you play/bet this horse and with whom?

PS: I define a "live" horse as one that has a lot of VALUE.GREENHEAD

If you post it here, it will turn from live to dead. Go off at 4/5 or less. Yikes!

Pinny goes into pools? How the hell do they make money then when they are paying the rebates? I find this hard to believe but will take your word for it. Just don't understand why they would want to lock in a 7 percent loss on all action and don't think they do.

[QUOTE most importantly where would you play/bet this horse and with whom?[/QUOTE]

Any solid out that will pay full track odds and that wagering doesn't go into the pari-mutual pool for win, place, show, doubles, exactas, quinellas, trifectas, pick three, etc. If you feel the win, place, show odds are likely to be below the normal booking level of 20/1 to win, 8/1 to place, etc. and don't plan to wager on the exotics, then more book options exist.

Releasing it to the RX could affect your odds should the race be run at a small track with a small pool. Summer tracks like Saratoga and Del Mar with larger pools might, and I say might, alter your price somewhat. On the flip side, if one wanted to increase their odds, well you get the drift.

As to where I might play it on the WPS, WSEX and CRIS come to mind. There are many others. Just depends on your anticipated odds and what type of bets you want to make. Straights and/or exotics.

If it isnt in the first 2 betting you will get 3 times the odds on betfair regardless of the tote. Only snag is they tend to be losers, US racing is full of non-triers and the powers to be seem to accept it. Were not even talking about hooking them up cleverly, just fall back to an impossible position.

I'd play it at Pinny or my local OTB...I am all for a nice value horse! Which track are we looking at here?

Brock-Your answer gets an F.Some players action at Pinny are layed off,OTB,everything goes into the pools. We have to stick with places that DONT layoff. It would be at Del Mar,unfortunatly for most they wont see it because it will be in the horse forum, with 10 minutes to post.Per-say Wil's request.I'm only cosidering this for all the RX has done for us.GREENHEAD

There are a wide variety of experienced horse players as well as those directly involved in the horse racing industry either currently or in the past that are members of this site and I'm sure most would willingly respond to any questions you might have. This particular thread happen to start discussion on the issued raised. Don't hesitate to start any new thread or ask any question regarding horse racing. If you would feel more comfortable asking questions in the horse racing forum, then you could start one there or here in the Offshore Forum. I will try my best to assist in answering any questions you might have and I'm sure others would chime in as well. Please don't hesitate at your convenience.

Since you post plays so infrequent and you feel strongly that this is a LIVE horse and want the RX members, posters and viewers to benefit, even though Wil commented that it belongs in the horse racing forum, perhaps this one instance he will understand that with such a short time frame of 10 minutes before post, the larger viewing audience would be in the Offshore Forum. Or, perhaps, the day of the race, a heads up that it is coming both in Offshore and the Horse Racing Forum and then posting the horse in both forums just before post time. Just a thought. What do you think Wil?
