Have you every had a song trapped in your head and can't get it out. For some reason I can't get that freaking "Blue Moon" song (Ricky Hatton entrance music) I think that's from Grease out of my head. I must have had a nightmare last night about it. I lost a pretty penny on that fight! :sad3:

Figured since I want to be an early bird this morning I would listen to some tunes and broaden my horizon musically. Listened to Don McLean "American Pie" completely through for the first time. One of the best rock songs I ever heard. At least I have "Blue Moon" out of my head....for now.

The lyrics to Mclean's anthem song American Pie were great, and a great song to listen to and remember when....that's what's cool about music, listening to clasics and going back in time....

Yeah the lyrics are incredible to that song. Never sat down long enough to listen to them until this morning. All I knew was the chorus.

American Pie

<CENTER>By Don McLean</CENTER>

A long, long time ago I can still remember how that music used to make me smile
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those people dance
And maybe they'd be happy for a while. 1

But February made me shiver
With every paper I delivered,
Bad news on the door step,
I couldn't take one more step, 2

I can't remember if I cried
When I read about his widowed bride 3
But something touched me deep inside,
The day, the music, died. 4
So...

Refrain:
Bye, bye Miss American Pie 5
Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry 6
Them good ol' boys were drinkin' whiskey 'n' rye 7
Singin this will be the day that I die.
This will be the day that I die. 8

Did you write the book of love 9
And do you have faith in God above,
If the bible tells you so. 10
And do you believe in rock 'n' roll?
Can music save your mortal soul? 11
And can you teach me how to dance real slow?

Well I know that you're in love with him
Cuz I saw you dancin' in the gym. 12
You both kicked off your shoes 13
And I dig those rhythm and blues. 14

I was a lonely teenage bronkin' buck
With a pink carnation and a pick up truck 15
But I knew I was out of luck,
The day, the music, died.
I started singin...

Refrain

Now for ten years we've been on our own 16
And moss grows fat on a rollin stone 17
But that's not how it used to be,
When the jester sang for the king and queen
In a coat he borrowed from James Dean 18
And a voice that came from you and me. 19

Oh and while the king was looking down,
The jester stole his thorny crown 20
The courtroom was adjourned;
No verdict was returned. 21

And while Lennon read a book on Marx, 22
The quartet practiced in the park 23
And we sang dirges in the dark, 24
The day, the music, died.
We were singin'...

Refrain

Helter Skelter in a summer swelter 25
The birds flew off with a fallout shelter,
Eight miles high and fallin' fast. 26
It landed foul on the grass. 27
The players tried for a forward pass 28
With the jester on the sidelines in a cast. 29

Now the half-time air was sweet perfume 30
While the sergeants played a marching tune. 31
We all got up to dance
Oh but we never got the chance. 32

As the players tried to take the field
The marching band refused to yield.
Do you recall what was revealed, 33
the day, the music, died?
We started singin'...

Refrain

Oh and there we were all in one place, 34
A generation lost in space
With no time left to start again. 35
So come on, Jack be nimble, Jack be quick. 36
Jack Flash sat on a candle stick 37
Because fire is the devils only friend.38

Oh and as I watched him on the stage,
My hands were clinched in fists of rage,
No angel born in hell
Could break that Satan's spell. 39

And as the flames climbed high into the night
To light the sacrificial rite
I saw Satan laughing with delight,40
The day, the music, died.
He was singin'...

Refrain

I met a girl who sang the blues 41
And I asked her for some happy news
But she just smiled and turned away. 42
I went down to the sacred store
Where I'd heard the music years before
But the man there said the music wouldn't play. 43

And in the streets the children screamed, 44
The lovers cried, and the poets dreamed. 45
But not a word was spoken,
The church bells all were broken. 46

And the three men I admire most,
The Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost, 47
They caught the last train for the coast, 48
The day, the music, died.
And they were singin'...

Refrain

They were singin'...
Bye, bye Miss American Pie
Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry
Them good ol' boys were drinkin' whiskey 'n' rye
Singin' this will be the day that I die.

Blue Moon Lyrics:

Once upon a time before I took up smiling
I hated the moonlight
Shadows of the night that poets find beguiling
Seemed flat as the noonlight
With no one to stay up for I went to sleep at ten
Life was a bitter cup for the saddest of all men

Blue moon
You saw me standing alone
Without a dream in my heart
Without a love of my own
Blue moon
You know just what I was there for
You heard me saying a prayer for
Someone I really could care for

And then there suddenly appeared before me
The only one my arms will ever hold
I heard somebody whisper please adore me
And when I looked the moon had turned to gold

Blue moon
Now I'm no longer alone
Without a dream in my heart
Without a love of my own

And then there suddenly appeared before me
The only one my arms will ever hold
I heard somebody whisper please adore me
And when I looked the moon had turned to gold

Blue moon
Now I'm no longer alone
Without a dream in my heart
Without a love of my own

And then there suddenly appeared before me
The only one my arms will ever hold
I heard somebody whisper please adore me
And when I looked the moon had turned to gold

Blue moon
Now I'm no longer alone
Without a dream in my heart
Without a love of my own
Without a love of my own
Without a love of my own
Now I have a girl of my own

Boogie with Stu, off of Led Zep Physical Graffitti. Can't get it outta my head!

"Boogie With Stu"

Been in town, my baby, We just got to rock on
Yeah, darling, we just got to go home
I don't want no tutti-frutti, no lollipop
Come on, baby, just rock, rock, rock.

Yeah-yeah-yeah-yeah, honey
We've been shakin' all night
Oh, darlin', we just got to roll right
Ooh, my head... rock on.

Hey babe, hey babe [repeat]

I don't want no tutti-frutti, no lollipop
Come on baby, just rock, rock, rock.

I went to the doctor and told him that I keep getting Tom Jones songs stuck in my head. He told me "It's not unusual."

Been awhile for me having a song stuck in my head. Last time was more like a week before I was able to exorcise it out. It was a song from Def Leppard from the Slang album called ‘Where does love go when it dies’.
