Anyone expecting starting pitchers to dominate?

1st H U4.5 is @-101
game U8.5 is @-105

Probably a good call. Prior has allowed only 3 earned runs in 14 2/3 innings since the all-star break while going 2-0.

Seems like both of these teams are a little slow out of the gate. Probably would look at 1st half with both bullpens being questionable outside of Isringhausen.

mr potter,

You are wrong about Cardinals being slow out of the gate. Cards have outscored their opponents in the first 3 innings by 68 runs which is 1st in all of the majors with White Sox second. I think if Cards are going to win this game tonight they will have to get to Prior early. LOL

I would def. go 1st half only as well.

THAT sounds like great advice....both teams seem to get some runs later in the game. Good luck on that! tulsa

I would agree that they need to get to him early but I don't think that is going to happen. Prior has a carrer 3.00 ERA against St. Louis and he looks as good now as he has all year.

Can someone please tell my why the line is so low with Sanders, Rolen, and Molina out? Jeff Suppan is by far the weakest link in the Cardinals rotation. I am perplexed and a little curious after taking the Cubs for tonight.

because the cubs are the cubs.

no team can find ways to lose like the cubs can. That said, I am on Prior tonight, not the cubs. It just sounds better.

The cubs do find ways to lose but for some reason last year and this year the cubs win more than I thought they would at St. Louis. THE cubs have killed me last year either right before the all star break or right after in St. Louis and this year they have taken two (I had run line on St. Louis the first game and second) in the last two days from me! They play tough against St. Louis.....

I wonder if I shouldn't avoid this one, but I want to win some MONEY!!! I am stuck in the middle. I may play the under....I am still studying this one. Watching this one and leaving it alone may be my best bet of the day! I have noticed there are many on the cubs tonight (at other sites too) or as Tomorrow's Newspaper put it, maybe they are on Prior. tulsa

Dont agree with this train of thought. It was really hot everywhere today and there were 2 overs 12 unders and 2 pushes.

Even though this appears to be a pitching mismatch, the Cardinals still have the most home wins in the Majors. I don't think you will find them as heavy dogs at home too often.

The Cubs have fared well against all division leaders this year except for Atl. and Wash. They seem to play up to the level of their opponent.

Vs. St. L 2-2(all games at Busch)
vs. Atl. 0-3(all games at Turner)
vs. San diego 4-3
vs. Boston 2-1
vs. White Sox 3-3

In my opinion, the only way to go here is the under. Hard to bet against the Cards even with all the injuries. Especially of a loss, as they usually respond well. Pujols back in lineup. He has hit Prior well. Do not want to take the Cards, as Prior can be dominating at times and because of all the Cards injuries. The under looks solid here, as long as Suppan puts together a decent outing.

Mr. Potter,

I told you about Cardinals in first 3 innings. One run in next 1.5 innings puts it over. I knew this line was a trap!
