even if you win, there is still the chance that the book you are playing with is not solid and therefore, you might end up empty handed.....

You would cash this ticket when? Before Christmas? Are you laying also? That Randy Moss guy, is he any good? They were in the Super Bowl, how many years ago? 8 is a tie? Chances of landing on 8? How long is that hold again? Nope.

Best Wishes...OF:howdy:

Because anyone can go 5-1 in that division... all of these teams look exactly the same on paper to me... Chiefs and Raiders especially have no defense. This years' Raider team looks like the '03 Chiefs... tons of offensive weapons. No defensive weapons. Difference here is that the Raiders have Moss and Porter, whereas the Chiefs had Priest Holmes...

Looking at the non-divisional schedule, there are some very winnable games...

Dallas, Buffalo, @ Tennessee, @ Washington, Miami, Cleveland, and the Giants are all possible wins...

With 7 toss ups out of division and at worst 2 divisional wins, there's gotta be more value than that on the futures' board...

Dont listen to the Mugs on here, The Raiders will sail through 8 wins and probably win the Division. Norv Turner hasnt had the best of luck as a HC, but he's not an idiot, and has put a dastardly plan together. With Kansas having no D, San Diego believing in Martyball, that only leaves Denver, which is bereft of pass play.

Does anybody know the w/l total for Chargers? This looks like a team that an under would be a great bet. 5 Trips to the eastern time zone including New England, Philly,Jets,Washington, and Indianapolis. With their normal improving divisional opponents, Plus Pitt, Dallas, and Buffalo at home, this team looks like an under .500 team to me as Brees will probably not play as efficiently and still no receivers and questionable secondary of young guys! What does others think?

For one thing Kojak, you won't have a bet since the line is exactly over or under 8 -110 either way for the Chargers. I don't know why you're picking on the Chargers receivers? Haven't you heard of Antonio Gates? The receivers they had did just fine last year. As far as Brees goes, why shouldn't he improve this year over last year? Would you say the same thing about Peyton Manning with another year under his belt? As far as the D-backs go, maybe they were young the last two years, but they are established Pro's now.

It seems you are looking at the Chargers the same way that others looked at them last year. And last year they didn't have an easy schedule either.

stuckinvegas,
I for one respect the Chargers especially Brees (went to my alma mater) and Tomllinson. Last year, Chargers played a very easy 5th place schedule. This year they are playing all the heavyweights and at their place. I think even if they played at the same level of ly, that may not be enough for them to win 8 with this schedule and improvement of teams within division. I predict they go rather 6-10 or 7-9 losing many close games. Only time will tell!

The Raiders will still suck. The sieve is still there on the D side. Moss is a nice addition, but I don't think a WR has EVER meant many extra wins for a team. It might seem that way, but receivers are a deceptive crew where the replacement might have got close to the same thing done. In other words does anyone really think the Vikes will have a lousy passing game because Moss left?

I think 5-7 wins at best. This Raiders team might be even worse than that. Maybe if the Raiders had the Chiefs line and running game of the past few years you could start making comparisons, but quite clearly they don't. Without those elements they won't win many games because everyone will be able to keep up with their weapons.
