i cant believe i fell 10 feet off a ladder while trying to build a deck on my house. i should have waited until after the work was done to start drinking... lol

That hurt like a bitch, I'll bet! The alcohol might have helped cause it but at least it dulled the pain a little. I hope it wasn't a compound fracture, was it?

You'll get to read a lot more Rx now for a few weeks. I'll be looking for more posts from you.

Tough one, hang in there, I guess you'll be here more. If you like to read other than sports & poker stuff, a book called Double Cross is based on how the Chicago mob was tied to the Kennedy assinations, kick ass book highly recommended, just an idea.

Hey, least the broken leg gives you an excuse to contract someone to build the deck while you sit on your ass and throw back some brew while watchin sports on TV.

i find out today how long the permanant cast stays on, right now i just have a temporary cast.:sad3:

I'll bet you're laid up for several months minimum, sorry to hear about the accident. When you get to be over 300lbs it may be time to put the ladders away ?

I hope you recover full use of the leg, and can be as you were before. I never fully recovered from a broken ankle, can't run, but can walk OK.

Bathing will be a hassle while cast is on, crutches aren't fun. You'll probably gain weight,too.

It makes you feel very helpless !

well the results are in. i tore all the tendons in my ankle, and when a couple of them went, they broke some of the bones in my foot away with them.

also, the docs found a couple of old broken bones.


on the bright side, i dont have a cast, i have this big ass boot with velcro straps that i have to wear for at least 4-6 weeks.

Wow ! Old broken bones you didn't know about ? So this is basically an ankle problem. That's what I had. I required a plate and screw, with the screw later removed and the plate remaining permanently.

Any surgery ? It sounds like it's not as bad as originally thought ?

Ankle is nasty area. Good luck on recovery time and future mobility.
