With this much time elapsing its more likely that he & his family are going to accept this deal. The organization basically said "Hey Phil we don't want you here & we told you this when you were going in exchange for Griffey a while back and our feelings towards you haven't changed." The Pads have already brought in a minor leaguer to play his position & saying we rather have this kid as our 1st baseman for our playoff run than you. I think its too much of a pride thing for Nevin not to accept.

I agree. He cant stand hitting in that park hes in. I think he will accept the trade today or tommorow.

Reports are he's leaning towards accepting. I agree with the pride thing, but also the the potential alienation by his teammates if he doesn't agree and they start to slide. He'd essentially be putting the burden completely on his shoulders to produce and carry the Pads to the playoffs if he doesn't accept.

He'll accept.
