Watching it right now; 2:30 to launch. You have to figure this is the safest space shuttle flight ever.

yep launch looked good...I think everyone in the room I was in was silent like they where waiting for a big KABOOM...thank god it never happened

took me about 30 seconds to walk down to the beach here in cape canaveral and witness it.

beautiful launch. beach was packed.

i am about 7 miles from the launch site.

figure that was about the 75th launch ive seen

Pretty impressive stuff...does it seem a little backward that they're launching this shuttle to "test new safety features?"
