He has been carried off on a stretcher, the crowd cheered but he didnt wave. they say his fingers moved at one point, but that's about it

Btw i was watching realsports last month and they did a segment on a kid who got killed in montana last year in the same fashion..Disturbing to say the least.

I am suprised you really don't see more fractured skulls from this type of injury. I mean its probably 10x harder then getting hit with a barehanded punch from Tyson in his early days.

I was watching, got hit right on the ear towards the back of the head. Tough to watch. Trot Nixon also hurt ealiar in the game.

Latest report he is concious and aware of his surroundings and what happened to him. going to the hospital for further evaluation.

I honestly was afraid he might die. His eyes were open on the stretcher thank goodness.

I am not concerned if he can help the red sox any more this year. if he can great, but I am only worried about his safety now. that not only was potentially career ending, but maybe could affect his ability to lead a normal life.

he is not out of the woods.

he suffered a TBI, and now bleeding on the brain is very possible, if it starts swelling then he is in dire straits

I agree, even when his eyes were open, I thought he might still be in serious danger. better they were open than closed though.

American hospitals are very good, if you get to one alive, they usually can keep you alive.
