How closely do you follow this during the NFL/NCAA season? and How do you use what you see the sharps and squares doing to your biggest advantage.

I dont really pay attention that much. When i used to go with sharp money i lost and when i went against it i lost. So it was a catch 22 for me. Now i just make my own plays and don't worry about that stuff :)

Can't we ALL just get along?!!

I always err on the side of caution. You can't strictly go by this for an extended period of time because both sides make money on any given Sat/Sun. Monday Night Football has been my best Square fade night (but it has to be PART of your formula for success).

Of course if you bet the Eagles every week you're sure to strike GOLD! :toast:

Interesting, in Britain one of the oldest sayings in Bookmaking circles is,

LATE MONEY, LIVE MONEY. However that may be more a Horse thing.

What happens when a gang of puteroners, led by one of the top faces in the country, read on places like here, that all the square money is on their pick.

What happens when all the people who think their sharp, after reading said post, smash into the opposite side, then find their in fact the squares, as the faces are on the other side.

And so it goes on, so-called sharp people talking nonsense about two groups who in reality are inter-woven.

There is really no such thing as either.

Once the game is over the money that WINS is the SHARP money, the money that LOSES is the SQUARE money.

The less people pay attention to what others are doing the better.

The edge (if there even is one) in "talent" of picking more winners than losers is VASTLY outwieghed by ones ability to get the best pay of for money wagered.

If I can get 5 cents per dollar back guaranteed [at 50% win rate] I can make money winning at a 48% clip. Thats GUARANTEED money, might not be a lot, but over a few years it adds up.

If you tried to tell someone you were "sharp" and didn't hit 50% they would laugh. But then again, that is why just about everyone loses if they gamble long enough.

Wantit,

Spot on as usual. Wait for the wave of posters saying how they make fortunes opposing the public/ square view, non of which will give you +105 the square bet. Touts have long found unique ways and words for fooling the real squares, Mug punters, and the square/ public angle is a classic. Wait for the first dope in here saying he is not part of the square/ public and you will see another sucker caught.
