Used to use nero 5 for cd burning, just bought a DVD burner and need some software.

Also, do I need a separate application to play DVDs? Thanks.

Tough to go wrong with Nero, but if you have an older machine, or are short on memory\ram, they will all choke. It's a pretty resource intensive operation, so don't try to burn DVD's on your five year old computer running Win98!

Has anyone used 1Click DVD before? How would you compare it to Nero? Never used Nero myself.

Never used it G2G.

BTW-I wouldn't recommend using any freeware that you download off the internet. I've been burnt badly more than once by crap that has a TON of spy\adware loaded with it.

Wasn't freeware, I actually paid 50 bucks for it and it doesn't work as well as it once did when I first downloaded it. Can't figure out why either?

Is Nero a one click application after putting the disc in?

G2G, download & install the newest (or the same) version. Some other install may have overwritten some of it's files & caused the problems.

DVD X-Copy (no longer able to buy it) is flawless, burns any and all DVD's rented or however you come upon them...

I agree with Brock, DVD X copy works great but is no longer available.

Nero is only good if you're copying non copyrighted DVD. You need to decrypt the DVD encryption on those blockbuster DVDs to burn them to Nero.
DVDxcopy can copy copyrighted movies, but the goverment shut them down.

http://www.dvdshrink.org/ is a must have to make copies of copyrighted DVDs w/Nero. dvdshink is freeware and integrates w/Nero 100%

Sam,
DVDshrink makes my DVD skips and freezes. I'm using dvd decrypt with Nero to shrink the movie to 4.7 Gig standard DVD size and it's working great.
