Yankees acquire Chacon
<HR style="COLOR: rgb(209,209,225)" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->Newsday has reported that the New York Yankees have acquired Shawn Chacon from the Colorado Rockies for a pair of minor-league righthanded pitchers, Ramon Ramirez and Eduardo Sierra.

Chacon last pitched on Sunday, allowing three runs in seven innings in a loss to Pittsburgh. So, it's possible he could get his first Yankee start on Saturday at Toronto.

Don't they have like 30 starting pitchers already?? Geez. Any team gets rid of a pitcher and they're right there to pick'em up. And they're not even GOOD pitchers. Leiter?? Nomo?? Chacon?? Them 2 from SD in the trade?? Any and/or all are decent at best. It may work out on one of them and I guess that's all they think they need for now until their regular starters get healthy.

It was kinda like my days as a manager at Domino's. Hire 15 drivers, hope 2 or 3 become productive employess.

Chacon was the rockies closer so he could be used as a set up guy. Besides Leiter and Nomo are washed up Chacon does have a pretty good arm.

Chacon was the closer-he sucked. Then they tried to use him as a starter-he sucked.

They tried everything.....and he sucked.

Fish,
I hear your hero is on the trading block?

Any body shopping for a bazillionaire left fielder with LL defensive skills, a girl arm, a whole bunch of pouting, but a thundering bat?

lander....pretty sure the Yankees will take him!! :lolBIG: Does he pitch too?? Can he?? They really don't care so he'll fit right in there. Anybody else available?? Two arms, legs, feet, and a head is all that's required...maybe. Unless someone else gets hurt then it's on!!

Hey, hey ... I'd take a Jim Abbott in his prime over ..

Chacon, Leiter, Nomo, and whatever-that-guys-name-that-pitched-today-is-called.

On the bright side, Randy has been almost average this year :103631605 :icon_conf

3.12 ERA on the road.
Throw out the ridiculous Coors field stats.
Can be used in the bullpen when a starter comes off the DL . No other options for Saturday.
Did not cost them any top prospects.
Good pick up.

Chacon is VERY underrated. It was a great acquisition by the Yankees. Mark my words. You guys can bash them all you want but he can pitch. By the way I hate the Yankees.
