The team with the best starting pitching. The hottest AL team since break, and last 50. The team that always closes strong. But they might pass the Angels for the division. So maybe not. Oaktown A's. 3 1/2 games back with Harden going today.

A's FROG fact. The A's and Angels meet 10 times more this season, with 7 at Oaktown.

Best Wishes...OF:howdy:

The A's will get in...I don't see the AL East loser getting in this time..neither team East team is going far...not this year.

The O's season died on the Metrodome carpet last week blowing 2 late 2-0 leads and losing 3-2 in the ninth, they have not rebounded, they ca't buy a clutch hit or even a sac fly...I can't believe how many runners they have stranded at third , some with no out, in the last 7 games...

Last night bottom 8, score tied, 2nd and 3rd no outs, and they don't score...this is not something new either...

It seems like its been 5 years or so now...The A's go on these second half missions, winning 80% of their games over a lengthy period...gotta be more to it then coincidence...but the team has changed and they continue to go bonkers in July and August.

Fishhead:

I think LAA will win the wildcard and I don't know why you didn't list them. If Oakland "keeps up this pace", they will blow LAA away for the division crown.

Oak had a 12-16 record in September last year. I would hardly claim that to be a strong finish. One more thing to consider, Oak will not be able to win at this pace for much longer. They have a tough schedule ahead with a young pitching staff that has never pitched this many innings.

I think it may be Minny as the others BOSTON/YANKS/O's A's/RANGERS/ANGELS

may beat each other up as someone has to LOSE those games.

It will never happen, but imagine Minny picking up Manny Ramirez to play DH and provide some punch! Twins need bats in a big way.

need 7 more bats on top of Manny but we would never spend that kind of money. Look for the Twins to slide deeper out of the picture then dump a few names which the rumors already hit our paper.
