Im hosting my first no limit texas hold 'em poker tournament this weekend. Its being held at a private hall which the owner is being nice enough to let me have a inside his establishment (for a fee).

Im trying to figure out the best way to put this thing together. I have a total of 51 confirmed spots that have paid.

I was going to do 5 tables of 10, then someone had a friend they are bringing, so im not sure what to do with this extra guy yet.

Its $75 to get in. The owner is charging me $300 to host the game from 6:30pm til whenever it ends as long as it is before 2:00 am and im having a friend of mine that owns a catering business to set up food arrangements like meatballs, mostacoli, chicken, potatoes, corn, bread and salad for $100. Plus the owner is giving me free drink tickets to pass out that are good for 2 free drinks per person.

So right now I have $3,825 in cash from confirmed players. Minus the $300 for the hall and $100 for the catering food, that leaves $3425.

Im paying out the final 8 players so I need to come up with some kind of payout scale for the top 8 players with $3425 in cash available. Anyone have any knowledge when it comes to what percentages to pay out for what spots I would appreciate it. Thanks.

You'll pay

30%
20%
14%
10%
8%
7%
6%
5%

You do the math....by the way in my state taking a cut of the pool to pay expenses or anything else makes it an illegal game
