David Stern expected to make the announcement next week. Nevada will not allow betting on the game. Thats great news for off-shore books. These hollywood big spenders will come to Vegas to see the game and will want to make a wager. When the Vegas sportsbooks say no betting on the game, they will ask, where can I get a bet down on the game? No doubt someone will say off-shore. The word will spread.

I can totally see the books buying up billboards and doing tons of PR work in Vegas that weekend. The motto will be "want to bet the game, bet it here".

It just makes me wonder how far Nevada would take it if a pro team wanted to get such accomodation to bring a team. If its an NHL team I am sure the books would be glad to take its games off the board. I doubt they would do it for an NBA team. MLB is sort of on the fence. Ironic thing is the NHL probably won't care about, nor should they considering some NHL teams are getting money earned from sports lotteries including betting on those very teams!
