Chan Ho Park was scratched tonight because he is about to be traded to San Diego for Phil Nevin.

Surprised Nevin would go to Texas, and not Baltimore...

I mean both are "offensive" teams with NO PITCHING, but cant see Texas looking that much better to him than to play with Sosa, Tejada, Palmeiro and Mora......seems odd

He'd probably rather not go, but Baltimore was on his no-trade list, Texas wasn't.

Nevin has crushed lefties the last 3 years with the exception of this one. Rangers can't hit lefties for shit and needed a DH.

Good trade for Texas.

Apperantly, Chan Ho also has a no trade clause. Gonna have to work through that now to get this deal done (So I've heard, not confirmed)

He would be a moron to turn it down. going to a team fighting for a playoff spot and pitching in one of the best pitcher's parks out there. then again - he is a Scott Borass client - so maybe he wants a few more $$$ since he is going from a state w/NO state income tax to one that will "bend him over" and "F" him int he ass so hard he will cry over the tax situation here

and where would you rather spend your time - San Diego or the great Dallass area where right now the daytime temsp are about 4,000 degrees with humidity about the same - or SD where it is gorgeous 350+ days a year!

Just what the Rangers needed to push them over the top. Why am I not surprised that Texas would deal for another bat?

While Texas is finally free of one of the worst free agent signings in baseball history. As evidenced by paying $65 million to Chan Ho Park for a total of 22 wins, ( note to John Hart…that’s about 3 mill per victory bud). And THAT would be the good news. On the down side he was equally mediocre posting a near balanced 23 loses. Throw in five trips to the DL in four years and you have a candidate for one of the all time greatest busts since free agency’s inception.

So to pour salt into the wound that never heals they do what? They shore up the offense. Brilliant!

These guys are only four games out of the playoffs with 60 games to go! If I was a Ranger fan I’d have my rosary handy and be paying that the dealing ain’t done. Trade Soriano…trade Hildago….trade someone…just please…in the name of Dan Duquette don’t get another bat in return.
