ward says he will sit out the entire season if need be to get a contract extension.

the nfl really needs to go with all garunteed contracts.

There should be NO guaranteed contracts in ANY professional sport.

If you were fired or laid off from work, would you still earn all of your salary?

thats not true. many many people have severance packages and garunteed money if they leave a job.

True, but the severance package won't pay you x number of dollars for the remainder of your contract, so to speak.
