I don't know if anyone is watching the Cards-Dodgers game tonight, but Matt Morris just made one of the DUMBEST plays I have ever seen, especially by a veteran player. 1st and 3rd one out Bottom 7, Bradley hits a tap back to the mound. Morris fields it, looks at Izturis who has gone halfway down the 3rd base line...then decides NOT to get him in a rundown, but looks away and throws to 1st base, and Izturis keeps running and scores behind the play easily. But hey who's complaining, I also have the Dodgers tonight!

Forgot to mention the game was tied 5-5 when that play happened. Dodgers added a run on a Jeff Kent double to make it 7-5 immediately afterward.:suomi:

That is the third time tonight that he has shown a complete lack of effort. First, there was a ground ball to first and he made a half-ass attempt to get there and the runner was safe. He has made 3 no effort at bats. And then that bone-head play with a runner on third.

Was the ground ball hit hard enough for him to wheel around and start the DP?

he stared the runner half way down between 3rd and home. The runner stopped half way, instead of throwing him out, he went ahead and threw it to first and the guy from 3rd just jogged home.

If he had wheeled immediately towards 2nd, they probably could have turned two, even with Eckstein's puss arm. Once he looked at the runner coming from 3rd his ONLY play was to go after that runner.

Just saw the replay. Yeah Morris had a brain fart. Definitely had the runner on 3rd in a rundown or could of went for the DP.
